    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): March 29, 23+1

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Late December

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: Boy

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: sciatica pain and general low back/hip achiness.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I got the NIPT results back earlier than expected and everything came back normal, yay! Still in limbo for decision-making until my next ultrasounds in January, but this is a relief.

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): What's a favorite birthday memory you have for your birthday/celebrating a child's birthday?

In the early days of our dating, DH would take me out to celtic pubs (my favorite) and gave me some really thoughtful gifts and it was rather healing for me to celebrate my birthday with him. (Now, he takes the day off work so I can have some kid-free time on my birthday and indulges where I want to eat <3 )

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: *bone tired* just straight up exhausted all the time no matter how much I sleep. But also insomnia lol and my feet hurt like a mofo if I'm standing for more than 15 minutes. Otherwise still feeling pretty good!

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: baby names... why is it so hard to name a baby

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): the Renaissance Festival is here in town during my birthday month and we've made a family tradition of going every year! We take ~3 date nights a year, one of them being my birthday, and so I also always really look forward to having a slow meal of my choice with DH lol.

    8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ:
  • @midnightatsunset that’s awesome news about the NIPT. What does that mean in relation to the markers they keep seeing on the ultrasound?

    1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 8

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 3/25

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: mid December

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: boy

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: itching 😩 I am getting hives all over my body. Yesterday I itched from my belly to my toes. It was awful. It could be the lotion I’m using and the tight pants.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: we are getting icy rain. No snow at all. I’m over this winter. I’m hoping we get a nice snow storm sometime this month so the ground is covered for Christmas.

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): What's a favorite birthday memory you have for your birthday/celebrating a child's birthday? When I turned 40 my friends decorated my years with all kinds of decorations. An adult diaper cake, streamers, tomb stone, and a few other things. It was the funnest birthday. For my kids, my oldest had a summer bday and only a few people showed up to a laser tag party and since I had a bunch of extra tickets all the parents played and it was so much fun. The parents enjoyed the party just as much as the kids.

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 25w1d / March 16

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: December 23 for appt + scan

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: Girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Same old, same old.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I came down with a nasty case of sinusitis/bronchitis over Thanksgiving. Honestly felt like death - even though I've been sicker before, that compounded with pregnancy was the worst. I ended up going to urgent care because my throat was closing up and I was wheezing so...back on antibiotics I go. I do feel like 85 percent better. Also, I used my nasal irrigation system too much and ended up inflaming my ear drum. We're batting .1000 over here.

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): What's a favorite birthday memory you have for your birthday/celebrating a child's birthday? We did my daughter's birthday party last year at a local grocery store that does parties. It was so much fun - they did all the set up, had activities for the kids, we were able to order anything we wanted from the catering menu, and they had their mascot come to take pictures with the kids.

For my birthday, I like to eat copious amounts of sushi.

8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: Anyone taking a probiotic this pregnancy? I asked the OB if there was one he recommended since I've been on so many antibiotics this pregnancy, and he said he doesn't advise it because there isn't a lot of data. I thought that was odd?
  • @midnightatsunset Glad the NIPT came back normal and it can ease your mind a bit!
  • @fifilala516 that is super odd imo... I generally take the Olly pre+probiotic combo and while I'm sure it's not life changing or the best thing ever out there, it's a good peach gummy and my midwife has never said anything about me needing to not take it and I run all my vitamins/supplements/meds by her. I'm sorry you've had the worst luck with all this!

@midnightatsunset wonderful news about the NIPT, also curious what they're hoping to see/not see on your ultrasounds if the genetic testing came back cleared ❤️

@emeraldcity603 I broke out in all over hives the week leading up to giving birth to my daughter. Zero idea what or why, except maybe it was heat related? It was early June and we had spent hours outside at a carnival right before the itching started. Non-dramatically, it is the most miserable I think I've possibly ever been in my life, so I hope this clears up for you ASAP! We did get a good snow storm here yesterday (~3in), but it's 37° today with no more in the forecast so it's unlikely to last long. I would love a white Christmas this year though. Our biggest snow usually comes the week after 🫠
  • @thescarletmom @emeraldcity603 The NIPT ruled out the trisomies that kind of screening checks for, but ultimately one of the "soft markers" was a hole in baby boy's heart in the septum (wall) between two chambers. They said it almost always resolves by 28 weeks, but not always. So in January I will have a growth scan US followed by an echocardiogram US with a pediatric cardiologist (or team?) to evaluate if it will be an issue at birth. If the hole is still there, it could impact the date my c-section is scheduled, the hospital I can deliver (the one I want doesn't have a high enough level NICU for this) and a NICU team will have to be present at the birth. And then obviously depending on the size/severity, what medical treatments he will need once he's born. :/

And that doesn't get in to the cysts-that-aren't-really-cysts-but-it's-the-medical-term-they-have in his brain that also supposedly almost always resolve by 28 weeks. We haven't really even talked about that option because I just can't deal with one more thing unless it's actually a tangible issue we're facing
  • @fifilala516 sounds like a medical professional who hasn't done the research personally and is just trying to cover their butt. I would say do whatever seems right to you based on your own research and maybe get a second opinion from another medical professional? You have been on a crazy amount of antibiotics. What awful luck to get so sick!
  • @midnightatsunset hugs 🫶 was a c-section on the radar before all the concerns from the anatomy scan? Like are you having a scheduled c-section delivery regardless of the issues resolving or is this another overwhelming factor? I'm sorry you have so much on your plate mentally. I know that the "should resolve" is only so comforting, but also all you have to cling to right now. I'll be thinking of you, and anecdotally I had a friend who went through this earlier this year and her baby's cysts did resolve by the follow up ❤️ my very-different-but-also-scary-"should"-resolve issue with my last pregnancy ended up being nothing at the follow up,  but it doesn't change the enormous weight you feel for weeks while waiting. I empathize with how hard it all is to cope with.
  • @thescarletmom c-section was always the plan for me. Part of me theoretically would like to try a VBAC I would be a good candidate for it, but I always get hung up on the very unlikely scenario of tearing my uterus. Because I don’t plan of having many more kids (if any) after this, my OB agreed a c-section repeat makes sense for me. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers and positive anecdotes. 🫶🏻
  • @midnightatsunset I'm glad that at least is not a huge change in your birth plans 🫶  I'm sorry you have to wait until after the holidays for some more definitive news, I'll be hoping for the very best for you and baby!
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 3

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): March 22; 24+2

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: 12/29 for follow up ultrasound from anatomy scan.

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: boy

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: just feeling overall tired and achy at the moment

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: exciting to see baby on US again on 12/29. Hoping for good news.

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): What's a favorite birthday memory you have for your birthday/celebrating a child's birthday? I like to do a little birthday table with a tablecloth, gifts and balloons relating to the theme or thing they’re into. We also get donuts for breakfast with candles!

8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ:  it’s been a bit since I’ve been on the boards; mainly super busy at work and in the evenings at home. Anybody have to go for a follow up anatomy scan? At my AS doctor came in and said he needed to see one area of the heart a little better. He didn’t say there was a problem, but he also didn’t say there wasn’t. He just said 11/12 photos of heart were good and he needed to look closer at one area. I read my chart notes and he said review of the aortic arches needed. I googled some and then got off and have pretty much just put it out of my head and I’m hoping it was just a sub-optimal view and Angle. However, I haven’t seen anyone mention repeat AS follow ups and how their 20 week scans were done one time.
  • @robinj716 I had to get a follow up anatomy scan with my first kiddo, for a very similar reason. They couldn’t get a good enough look at one of his heart valves so I had to go back. Everything was normal, though! Praying the same is true for your babe ♥️
  • Whoops I'm late this week!

@midnightatsunset I'm glad NIPT came back normal! Hopefully everything resolves and comes to nothing. It's a very stressful situation to be in though, we went through it with my first (everything ended up being normal) but the wait and see was so emotionally draining. Make sure you are taking time to look after yourself ❤️ When do they want to do a repeat scan?

@robinj716 I had a repeat with this pregnancy, just couldn't see everything well because of how baby was positioned. With my first they were following his heart pretty close, I was getting scans every week-2 weeks and it ended up resolving on its own. Had to see cardiologist after he was born just to double check but everything was fine.

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 26+1

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: January

    4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: bad PGP, it's hard to walk by the end of the day.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: my c section is tentatively booked for March 4th! Such a different experience getting to just pick a birthday (my first was an emergency c section, OB said I could try for VBAC but I was high risk for needed another emergency section from uterine rupture because of placenta placement I think(?) Anyway, I didn't really care to try and I think DH would be very stressed if we did).

7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): What's a favorite birthday memory you have for your birthday/celebrating a child's birthday? My grandma and I share a birthday, we went to their lake house in Ontario for a couple week around our birthdays. It was always lots of fun swimming.

    8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ:  none
  • @robinj716 With my first daughter, I had to go back after the anatomy scan for the exact reason that they couldn't get enough "good" pictures of her heart due to her position. Went back a week later and she cooperated and everything was fine.

With this baby, we already had a fetal echo before the AS and that was normal except they couldn't get a good view of the aortic arches in this one!! They said if they were able to be seen during the anatomy scan and they looked fine, then I wouldn't have to go for another echo. Luckily they got the aortic arches during the anatomy scan. The cardiologist did recommend seeing babe at 1-2 months after birth just to make sure all was good.
  • @lizdiane456 my repeat scan is in early January. It’ll be a long afternoon because the clinic for this is further than my normal clinic and they are doing a growth and echocardiogram back-to-bac
