  • @virginiaham my dog barks at everything and anythjng that goes by the outside of our house, I’ve considered putting up a privacy film on our windows so he can’t clearly see out. But also training myself (always) that my yelling at him to be quiet is almost worse than the barking 🤦🏼‍♀️

How are you feeling? Kind of over it, lol. So thankful for a healthy pregnancy and that my body is capable of this, but the swelling, hand pain, carpal tunnel, etc have got to go. Just so ready to have a baby in my arms instead!

Rants/Raves: I wish I had a job where I could work from home these last couple weeks of pregnancy.

Happy December, everyone! Congrats to those whose babies have made their debut already and hoping for smooth deliveries for everyone else!!

    Questions: Not at the moment

GTKY: December is here! Babies are arriving left and right! What's the biggest thing you've sworn you were going to do but procrastinated on this pregnancy?
A luxury thing, but I wanted to have my car detailed inside and out. It’s almost 10 years old and the seats could really use a good shampoo. The world will not stop turning if it doesn’t happen and I’m sure my newborn won’t judge stains on my car upholstery (and will probably contribute a few more!) Also have not bought any curtains for the nursery and the blinds are broken in there…

    Upcoming Appointments: today :)

How are you feeling? Good! Tired but good! Achy at times if I don’t slow down.

Rants/Raves: I wish I could work from home full time but I’m hybrid. It’s getting exhausting the days I have to go into the office though.

Organizing the house! It is very hard with 5 active kids though.
With the long weekend, we did start a painting project we had put off and we are working on that and should be done painting the dining room, kitchen and hallway this upcoming weekend :) I also finally switched my kids rooms around and am in the middle of switching out clothes in their dressers which is such a project. All of this hoped to be done this past weekend but now the goal is to be finished this upcoming weekend lol.
  • @dogmom5 the clothes swap to bigger sizes is always so much more work than I think it will be. I just did this with the girls and ugh. Actually I can’t remember if I actually finished the clothes hanging in the closet. I swear there has to be a better system but my younger one hates giving up certain things and will try to argue it really does still fit when it very clearly doesn’t.

Upcoming Appointments: weeklies yesterday and Thursday 12/11, then pre-op appointment on Tuesday 12/16 (see below)

How are you feeling? Disappointed but mostly at peace. Babes is still frank breech and seems very firmly and comfily nestled in my pelvis. Had a good talk was the very kind OB we got (I’ve been meeting a new practice member at every appointment in hopes of having built rapport with whoever will be on call when I deliver) and ultimately decided an ECV attempt carried more risks for us than we were comfortable with. So unless this kiddo decides to reconsider which way is north or kicks off spontaneous labor, we’ll be welcoming them into the world via scheduled c-section at 39w0d on 12/18.

Rants/Raves: Did you know when you schedule a c-section you get to choose which provider will do it? I was so flustered when they asked me to start naming names. One of my favorites is already booked in the OR all day but the other was free, and despite my disappointment at how this pregnancy is going to end I’m actually really pumped she’ll be the one to announce whether baby is a boy or girl and place them in my arms 🥰

    Questions:

GTKY: December is here! Babies are arriving left and right! What's the biggest thing you've sworn you were going to do but procrastinated on this pregnancy? Oh, so many things. (I may or may not have chosen this GTKY just so you’d all help me feel better about myself.) I’ve had the pantry ingredients to make a casserole for the freezer since probably September. I bought a cat door to install for the basement so we’re not negotiating their access while we try to do laundry but it’s still in the box. I got a whole box of cloth diapers as hand-me-downs that haut need to be washed/dried/prepped but they remain untouched. And most importantly, I’d love to give the house a big, thorough, deep cleaning to get postpartum off on the right foot. If anybody knows where to find the motivation and energy for that at this stage, I’m all ears…

@aisleofviewtwo the extent of my nesting this pregnancy is the desire to create a literal nest of blankets and nap extensively in it, lol.

I remember dreaming about organizing with DD2
the nesting was so bad. But this go around it’s very much trying to fake it till I make it…with lackluster results. 🤷‍♀️

We are almost birth date buddies 🤣 we can wait it out the next 2 weeks together, it feels like forever!

@thatbaintforbetty Seriously! 11 days and counting. We can do it.

It is funny tho how having an “official” date rather than just an anticipated due date has made this baby feel 1000% more real. Like, I knew they were coming eventually. But somehow knowing the actual birth date just hits different.
