5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: While I mostly feel great and like I have a lot more energy than before, I certainly tire easily. Had to take a long nap on Sunday afternoon because I was so done in by our long day Saturday and then the kids waking up early Sunday. I did about an hour worth of meal prepping for the week last night and my feet hurt so bad by the end of it I was miserable. Otherwise I just have some mild stuff here and there, like headaches, congestion, out of breath easily, and I've been noticing more BH contractions.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: Work is stressful right now as we prepare for trial, and naming this baby is proving to be a huge pain in the ass.
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Heartburn, boob tenderness, RLP, pregnancy insomnia. I was awake from midnight - 3am last night.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: So I finally had my colposcopy that I was supposed to have earlier this summer but had to postpone since I found out I was pregnant. All good there, so that's one thing to cross off the list. I am still testing positive for a UTI after 2 different rounds of antibiotics. I am totally asymptomatic. I feel like this pregnancy has been one thing after another.
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? I can eat sushi everyday so not having salmon nigiri or spicy tuna right now is really getting to me.
8.) Questions: Anyone deal with a persistent UTI in pregnancy? Apparently it's common but it didn't happen to me with my first.
4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: boy
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I got nauseous the other evening and was preparing to vomit. I ended up just going to bed and was fine when I woke up. I’m pretty sure it was my vitamins. I can take them on an empty stomach at home but every time I have tried to take them here it has made me feel off.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: we are still in Hawaii. It’s pouring rain this morning and we are trying to decide what to do today. We will likely wait it out this morning and hit the beaches this afternoon. Possibly shop until then. This has been a good trip overall. I have swam with 3 sea turtles in the last 2 days. It’s always hit or miss so I never know if I’ll actually get to see one when we come.
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? I like a good steak with potatoes.
@fifilala516 I have a friend who gets a persistent UTI without fail every time she's pregnant. I don't think I've ever had a UTI in pregnancy, but I did have a 6-8 week long yeast infection that would not. go. away. with my 3rd 🫠 was not asymptomatic lol. I'm sorry friend! You've really been through it and I hope it gets better ASAP.
@fifilala516 I’m glad your colposcopy is done. I have never dealt with a persistent UTI. Did they say they were going to give you a different kind of antibiotic to knock it out? I would probably start a probiotic after so many antibiotics.
4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: fingers crossed we find out at November US!
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Getting a little bit of energy back (yay!). Occasional (bad) heartburn triggers my nausea. Periodic headaches (which is pretty common for me even when not pregnant). A bit of round ligament pain here and there.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I think I have felt LO moving a couple times already. I do have an anterior placenta though, so I know I'm still at least a couple more weeks out from feeling them consistently - assuming this will be like my last pregnancy when I also had an anterior placenta.
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? I love a good beef dish with potatoes or a creamy pasta, but I don't have it very often.
4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: finding out at anatomy scan
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: insomnia (I wake up at 2am like clockwork). Last few days I've had this constantly dull ache in lower abdomen, feels somewhere between a cramp and how you feel the day after you do a brutal ab workout. I don't recall feeling this way with my first but who knows? I'll get intermittent sharp RLP too so it's not that. I did fall on Saturday and it started after that so I wonder if I pulled something? I plan to ask my Dr tomorrow, or I work tonight so maybe I get one of our docs to u/s me real quick if I'm feeling anxious (kidding...kinda, but it does make me feel better to be one floor away from MFM)
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: had my first ob appointment last week, I had forgotten how much I like her so it's nice to be back there even if it is an hour drive away. Other than that fall is just busy, doing last of my canning from the garden, I made big batches of tomato sauce and tomato soup this weekend, today is salsa, then it's just plain crushed tomatoes. We go home to see my family Thursday for Thanksgiving so excited about that.
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? I love to cook so like to get something I can't/don't make at home which is often some kind of lamb or beef. Our favourite restaurant is a Brazilian BBQ place, it's to die for but we don't get there often as it's where we used to live, a province over, but we go fairly often when we visit my parents.
@lizdiane456 I pulled a muscle in my belly sneezing recently, or I assume so because it felt exactly like what you describe 😂 I think with subsequent babies, the ab muscles have just given up in a significant way that they hadn't yet with a first baby. My bet would be that you have a sore muscle from the fall, but of course if you have access to some peace of mind far be it from me to say you shouldn't at least ask what they think!
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Lower back pain, groin pain, can't lay flat anymore, holding stomach when sneezing to avoid pain, occasional migraines/headaches, and heartburn.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: Looking forward to pumpkin patch photos this year...and finally ordered a pregnancy pillow so looking forward to that relief. Annoying-new stretch marks, and apparently my husband thinks I'm super audible when I move around or finally get to lay down haha I guess I sound like an old timer. I wish we could trade places for a week.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ: ᴡʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ʏᴏᴜʀ ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ᴍᴇᴀʟ/ʀᴇꜱᴛᴀᴜʀᴀɴᴛ? Right now none atm, but I am craving some chicken tikka masala or some decent sweet and sour chicken.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: Anyone else watch, The Handmaid's Tale? It's on Hulu and Disney I believe. This show is wild, can only imagine what the read was like.
@emeraldcity603 Are you on Kauai? I just spent 5 days there and it was pretty rainy. I loved it though, Maui is so dry and I'm tired of that!
@fifilala516 I did have persistent UTI during my second pregnancy and eventually I got infected amniotic fluid and complications. I am so worried about it happening again. I really hope you get your UTI cured!
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I went on a long boat ride that I probably shouldn't have gone on, but I actually got really swollen feet by the end of it. It freaked me out but went away. Also like my bowels have slowed down so much, it's not comfortable.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I just got back from Kauai and it was really nice. I didn't realize my swimsuit didn't fit until I got there though and it was giving me a major wedgie. I had to go and buy some $200 swimsuit I found at some shop and sadly I don't think it will fit after pregnancy.
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? It's so hard to choose. I guess my favorite meal is a fancy English afternoon tea with scones and little sandwiches and all of that!
4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: Boy
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: headache, fatigue, nausea only at dinner time
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I passed my 3 hour glucose test yesterday with flying colors!! I’m so relieved. I still have to do it again at the normal 26-28 week time frame, but I’m glad I don’t have to stress about it until then again. My husband is about to leave for work for a month and I’m already tired thinking about doing all the adulting alone. Of course, he still has to work even though the gov is shut down and he isn’t getting paid 🤬
7.) GTKY: What's your favorite meal/restaurant? I love Italian food. Give me all the pasta and breadsticks please!!
@RoseShadow873 no, I was on Oahu. There were scattered showers a few days, some days just sun, and one rainy day that covered the island. Living in Alaska a lot of people go in the winter which is the rainy season and my friend is always asking why I go when we do. Why would I leave Alaska to avoid the snow to have a high likelihood of being met with massive storms that cover the entire island? Plus, it’s not as busy in October. I heard Maui was super rainy while I was on Oahu. We will probably go again next October. I also want to spend a week at Disneyland so that’s also a possibility.
@beachmama14 I’m glad you passed the 3 hour. Lots of people fail the 1 hour and pass the 3. I actually only passed by 1 point for the 1 hour last time so I’m kinda worried myself. I need to start eating better now that I’m done traveling.
