    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 03/14 (16w1d)

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: End of October.

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: Boy!

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Migraines mostly and fatigue.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: We did a reveal and it was such a let down. Nothing exciting to report honestly. Been a rough couple weeks.

7.) Questions: None at the moment.

  • @blossomingmama sending you hugs 🫶 I'm sorry you've had a hard few weeks and your reveal didn't go well. I feel like disappointments in pregnancy just feel so much harder to cope with. I hope this week is better and turns things around!
  • @blossomingmama What happened at the reveal? Gender disappointment from family members?
  • @emeraldcity603 The cupcakes we had done weren't done professionally, and when I picked them up in the store I could see blue under the frosting. Instead of piping it into the cupcake she put it under the frosting and you could see it. So I basically found out, alone in the store, and cried the entire way home because the moment was ruined with my family and the whole thing I had envisioned with one of us getting the mystery cupcake didn't get to happen. No solid video just deep disappointment. Waiting months to find out and then just flat. I didn't have the opportunity to feel excited and just feel robbed from such a special moment. So much stress today honestly thinking about it makes me tear up still.. but I'll get over it eventually. Just happy to have a healthy baby boy...my hormones don't help.
  • @blossomingmama that is so sad 🥺 I'm sorry that happened. You'd think they would have at least not been so careless at to have the color visible from the outside for something you paid for. Of course we all just want a healthy baby, and one day it won't sting as bad as it does today. But it's also okay to just be disappointed that you didn't get the moment you were hoping for with your family. It doesn't take away your joy at your perfect babe.
  • @blossomingmama I’m sorry. That is really unprofessional to not at least make sure the surprise isn’t spoiled. I would have felt the same disappointment. Pregnancy emotions are no joke.
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 2

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 16+5, March 11

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: friday

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: finding out

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: migraines are back with a vengeance. I'm more upset about it than the situation probably warrants but it just sucks. DHs was on me today to call my Dr and I kinda snapped at him like what are they gonna do that hasn't already been done? He (PCP) referred me to my ob already, my appointment is this week, I can't make it Friday any faster. He's crabby because I haven't been able to keep house to the standard I usually do and I'M crabby because I feel like he hasn't picked up slack and our house is constantly a disaster until I have a good day and can clean and I'm the one in pain all the time, shouldn't that be more important than him pouting over having to wash some damn dishes?! His excuse is "it's hard with a toddler" which no shit. I do it all the time. Maybe having some slight moodiness as a symptom also

    6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: see above I guess.

    7.) Questions: none

@blossomingmama I'm really sorry that happened. That's so disappointing. Pregnancy emotions are no joke also
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 4

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): March 15, 16w1

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Mid October

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I've been having headaches too, but I have had chronic headaches my whole life and these ones are fairly mild thankfully. Mostly they've been a background annoyance and only occasionally so bad that I have to go lay down. Mostly I've had a huge burst of energy recently and spent hours cleaning this weekend, since the house has been difficult to keep up with since getting pregnant.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I've been able to take my prenatal finally without puking it back up! Better late than never I suppose. We also had an ultrasound today that was a huge relief (my last midwife appt baby's HR was off and I've been stressed for almost two weeks about it), as soon as we saw the heartbeat flickering in baby's chest my husband reached out and grabbed my hand. We both had prepared ourselves for bad news, but baby looked great and we found out the sex!

    7.) Questions: none right now!
  • @lizdiane456 it's not moodiness to be annoyed when he wants to complain but is unwilling to pick up the slack 😒 my DH doesn't usually have the instinct to take over my usual house keeping tasks whenever I'm down, but he would never dream of complaining about it to me because he knows what's good for him. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with the migraines and the house and the husband, I swear the house goes to shambles so fast when I'm pregnant too, it boggles the mind.
  • @lizdiane456 I hope him seeing how much work you do makes him appreciate you more. When I went on my trips and was gone for 6 days I had been getting the laundry all caught up. Then he tells me he has been doing laundry nonstop and it’s impossible to keep up with. I was like, yeah, I already know this. 🙄 I need to do 3 loads a day to keep up with everything. Sometimes that’s just not possible. I hope you get some time to rest and hopefully relief from the migraine.
  • @blossomingmama I’m sorry you were disappointed and didn’t have the experience you hoped for. That’s really crappy and you’re absolutely allowed to feel your feelings.

    1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 2

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 16w / March 16

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Friday for regular OB but I had an MFM appointment and amnio today

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: fleeting queasiness and fatigue. Round ligament pain. Heartburn.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: taking it easy today and tomorrow after my amnio today. The genetic counselor was about 80% sure the NIPT was accurate but even then if the diagnosis is confirmed, it isn’t really something that is under an MFM’s care (knock wood).

    7.) Questions: NATM
  • @fifilala516 thinking of you 🫶 I hope the amnio goes smoothly and you have answers soon
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 4

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): March 6 (17+3)

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: 3 weeks to go

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: girl

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Heartburn is starting back up (I had it horribly my last pregnancy) and making sleeping awful if I eat anything that's not totally bland for dinner.

    6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I guess see above?

7.) Questions: Has anyone else not shared with work yet? I'm a teacher and I know I need to let them know soon, but being "elderly" I just want to wait til the anatomy scan to be extra safe.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @crizz13 with our 2nd, my husband didn't tell his work until I was 34 weeks 😂 my work found out much earlier than I anticipated this time because I had a low blood sugar episode and passed out in the lunch room at 6 weeks so it was a big topic basically immediately. I usually tell work early because I need accommodations for HG, but if I didn't I'd probably wait until anatomy scan to tell them too because of loss history. I never announce to anyone who isn't close friends and family until after that point either.
  • Thanks mamas 💓, it's so nice to be heard/read and validated. I really appreciate you all, and your kind words. I was shocked at how much that disappointed affected me physically. I was so drained and had that migraine back the rest of that evening. I'm trying to avoid stress like the plague and drink as much water as humanly possible. Some days it's just a nagging base skull lingering headache, but I'll take that over a full blown eyes bulging migraine. I've been contemplating that ice pack headband thing someone recommended.

@lizdiane456 Your feelings are completely valid. I've actually been having the same interactions with my husband ever since the migraines started, and have needed the slack help. I had a burst of energy here and there, but sometimes it feels like a competition on who is the most tired.. and that isn't fair to anyone. The mornings and evenings (evening reset I call it in my home) are the times I have energy to get the house in order, or to a state of functionality so I don't get irritated. Then there are other days when rest is just simply priority, and surviving the day is the focus. Really hope this migraine phase passes us sooner rather than later, it is the absolute worst symptom so far for me. It's astonishing how each pregnancy journey is so different.

@fifilala516 hoping for the best for your family on these amnio results. Stay positive.
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 2

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): March 29 (14+2)

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Late October

4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: Fingers crossed we find out at my next US in mid-November!

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: still have a pretty low appetite and we are experiencing some days of 30-40 degree temperature swings (Farenheit) which is messing with my sinuses and trigger post-nasal drip gagging. Energy is all over the place but I often have to just rest while doing laundry when my son naps.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I really want to get back into a workout routine this week, but trying to "just do it" often gets overrided by exhaustion. Before my son was born I could just push through because then I could laze around afterwards but that's hardly an option as a mom! I miss being able to push through to workout, if I'm being honest. I'm still very thankful I can at least go on walks with DS while it's still warm out.

    7.) Questions: none this week.

@blossomingmama I didn't get a chance to say this earlier, but I am so sorry the cupcakes were botched. That really sucks and on top of it triggering a migraine episode! Double suck!

@fifilala516 I hope you are recovering well from your amnio. blessings to you and your family as you wait to hear more.

@thescarletmom yay heartbeat!!! I am so glad you got see baby girl doing well!

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and vibes. We got preliminary results back from the amnio, and it is confirmed Triple X Syndrome, which we expected. There isn’t anything to be done at this point, as pregnancies typically continue on low-risk, but we are going to schedule a fetal echocardiogram just to make sure the heart is normal since there’s an increased risk of defects there. I’ll also probably have more ultrasounds just to keep tabs on growth.

It’s not amazing news but it could be far worse, so we’re happy to know and be informed so we can be prepared down the line for any interventions or therapies needed.
  • @fifilala516 I'm happy you have answers ❤️ and it sounds like everybody is prepared to help take the very best care of her when she arrives! Hopefully it brings you some peace to be able to plan, and I'll cross my fingers that her heart develops perfectly and in the end she won't need them.
  • @fifilala516 I’m glad you got some answers and can move forward with the best care for baby. Be prepared for a long US when they check the heart. I was sent to the MFM for that US after we found out 2 of our kids have heart defects. It was very long and I had to have a full bladder for it. 🫠 I’m glad that you’re still considered low risk.

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 14w3d- Due March 29

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: 10/17

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: Boy!

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Nausea and fatigue improving. It usually hits me later in the day at least which is helpful with working.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: Im annoyed I have to take a 1 hour glucose test on Friday. Ive never had GD and I usually don't have to take it until 28 weeks. Has anyone else had to take it so early?

    7.) Questions: see above.

@fifilala516 My second child has a genetic dx and is pretty profoundly affected. We didn't know about it until after birth, but just wanted to say Im sorry you are getting this news right now. I hope you feel supported and at peace with the rest of your pregnancy. Feel free to reach out if you ever need support!
  • @beachmama14 one of the other moms here has already taken the 1hr but I know she has a history of GD. Do you think maybe they're having you do it early because of the IVF, or have you had other IVF pregnancies where they didnt do this?
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 3 (3 boys!)

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 15+4

3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: 10/15 routine. 10/31 anatomy scan. Need to schedule my 3 hour glucose still.

4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: BOY; confirmed with NIPT yesterday!

5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: still getting tired a lot, but feeling semi good.

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: finally received my NIPT results after my doctor office fiasco. Everything is looking good/low risk and confirmed male gender like sneak peek said. Basically my doctor office lost my lab sample. Didn’t listen to me when I told them my blood was lost and they told me to be patient. Saw my OB who helped me get it situated, but had to do the blood draw again. They ran the horizon screen a second time, so I sure hope Natera isn’t going to charge me for that. My OB was also upset that nobody called to discuss my positive strep B urine. She gave me an antibiotic and said no need to retest later with the swab, they’ll just give me antibiotics in hospital. I do have some medicine allergies, so I can’t take penicillin that they originally wanted. They’ll just have to give me something else while in labor.

7.) Questions: how’s everyone coming along on names! We still have “the little grape” 😂 and Eli. When I shared “boy” with my best friend who has an Eli, she said “another little Eli!” So I’m going to say she’s okay with it 🤷🏻‍♀️ We keep looking at name lists and just haven’t agreed on anything else yet. We will still search for now.
  • @beachmama14 I had to do the glucose test at 9 weeks, but that was because I was diagnosed last baby with gestational diabetes. Because it’s pretty common to have it again once you had it, he wanted it done early so I can change my diet and check if I need insulin. They still want me to do the 3 hour test, but high risk doctor said to just assume I’ve got it and I’m on a no sugar/less sugar diet at the moment. I have my old glucose monitor I’m using, but he said do the 3 hour just to get accurate numbers for their charts and “just to confirm” and he will be able to also get me a new glucose monitor with insurance to cover it with an updated diagnosis.
  • @thescarletmom This is my only IVF pregnancy so maybe that is it. Im also in a different weight category than I have been with my previous 3 pregnancies so I thought that could be a factor as well? This is my first pregnancy with this clinic, so Im not sure what their guidelines are. I should have just asked at my appt, but I immediately assumed it was my weight and didn't want to have that conversation. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly tomorrow!
  • 1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 4

    2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 14+6

    3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Late October

    4.) ʙᴏʏ/ɢɪʀʟ/ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ/ꜱᴜʀᴘʀɪꜱᴇ ᴜɴᴛɪʟ ʙɪʀᴛʜ: girl

    5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: not much really

6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: my kids are on fall break now and we are going to Kauai for a few days.

    7.) Questions:

@beachmama14. they tried to give me the glucose test early because of my urine test result but I'm not doing it since I know I have this rare condition benign renal glycosuria and that is the reason. Did they give you a reason?

@robinj716. we always have a hard time picking names but I feel like girl names are extra hard for me. I hardly like any girl names! One name I like also just sounds bad with our last name so I think that is out. I have like two names that are most likely right now but I just don't know!

That’s exciting to read everyone’s updates! Staying on top of nutrition and healthy drinks can really make a difference during pregnancy. I recently found this site that breaks down different coffee drinks and their nutritional info, which can be helpful when deciding what’s safe or best to enjoy: https://brewmenuus.com/

<p>That’s exciting to read everyone’s updates! Staying mindful of nutrition and drink choices matters — I found a handy breakdown of coffee drinks and their nutritional info here
  • @RoseShadow873 @robinj716 DH and I had *just* agreed to a boys name the night before finding out it was a girl 😅 and we have absolutely zero overlap in girls names we like now. It was hard af naming our first daughter, we just have very opposite tastes in baby names especially for girls.
  • Well I did my glucose test this morning. I only felt bad for like the first 5 minutes, then it wasn’t too bad. Fingers crossed my results are acceptable! I really don’t need another thing on my plate to worry about right now.

Anyone else affected by the current gov shutdown? I hope it gets resolved before mid-month pay should go out, but I have a feeling this is going to be a long one. I’m not making a political statement in any way, just commiserating with anyone else who may be directly affected like we are  <3
  • @beachmama14 I'm so sorry to hear about that! Pregnancy is no time to be worrying about pay that is out of your control. We are not personally affected, but my area of legal practice includes government liability so we work with many people who are affected. My heart goes out to you and I hope it gets resolved.

🤞 crossing my fingers that your glucose test results are good!
  • Well I failed my 1 hour test and now I am spiraling. I dont do well with diets and Im dreading the 3 hour test. Hopefully by some miracle I can pass it!
  • @beachmama14 oh no! I'm thinking of you and crossing my fingers 🤞
  • @beachmama14 I know many women who failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour with flying colors. So don’t panic just yet.
