Hcg levels fluctuating. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Okay, so my last period ended 7/30. I found out i was pregnant 9/3. The same week I found out I was pregnant I went to the ER a few days later for light spotting. They did transvaginal ultrasound and didnt see anything. They checked my hcg levels and they were 1,153. They had me check my levels 48 hours later and my hcg dropped to 1,069 so my OB said that I am miscarrying and to give it time to pass. A week later I had my hcg levels checked again and they were 938, so slowly trending down. Fast forward to today I had my hcg levels checked again and now they're at 1,781... they did a transvaginal ultrasound and confirmed that there was an embryo in my uterus, doctor said they didnt see a heartbeat but I could still be early.. I am so confused. I get my levels checked again in 2 days. I was devastated when I found out that im miscarrying. But now I don't know what to think.. has anyone had a smiliar story
