1st Trimester

1st Pregnancy

Hi, first time poster here. I was 3-4 days late for my period so I took a pregnancy test. Immediately came back positive before 2 mins. I took a repeat and same results. 2 days later I took another test using a different brand and it’s still positive. We’re overjoyed, but at the same time anxious because our doctor’s appointment isn’t for another 2 weeks. Although the tests say positive and my breasts are sore and I don’t have a period, it’s just a little hard playing the waiting game. Any recs on what you guys did to stop overthinking while waiting for your first doctor’s appointment?

Re: 1st Pregnancy

  • There is not much else your doctots office is going to do.  They will do an in office test, maybe get you set up for a 12/13 week ultrasound, but most definately a 20 week scan.  Possible physical.  So they are not going to tell you much more than you know already.

  • I’m in the same boat. I have very bad anxiety on a normal day but this is our first pregnancy. My
therapist encouraged me to write down all
my worries, hopes, concerns and then arrange them into logical and emotional thoughts or concerns. That way you can get answers for things you really need and space to express thoughts and feelings. It’s been slowly working for me.
