Vanishing Twin Syndrome

August 1 in 1st Trimester

Just had my 8 week vaginal ultra sound. Doctor turned the screen towards my husband & I where we saw 2 sacs, but only one had a baby & the other was empty!

She stated this irregularity is referred to as Vanishing Twin Syndrome (VTS) which I've never heard of before. Freaked out my husband and what was a very real, emotional moment turned surreal and emotional.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Would love to hear your experiences.
