Hi everyone — wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar to what I’m going through….

At our 22 week scan, the doctor noted significant asymmetry in the lateral ventricles — the left measures 5 mm and the right measures 9.2 mm. Both are still within “normal” range, but the size difference is significant, and the right ventricle sits at the upper limit of normal. The baby was breech during the scan, which the doctor said can sometimes affect how clearly things show up, although he thinks he got a good look.

He wasn’t overly concerned and suggested we monitor with follow-ups, but of course, I’m anxious — especially since our earlier scans as recent as 10 days ago marked both ventricles as normal. He mentioned we could check for infections like toxoplasmosis as a proactive step, though he didn’t strongly suspect anything.

If anyone else has gone through something similar — with one ventricle enlarged (even double the other) but both still in the normal range — I’d love to hear your outcome. Did the asymmetry resolve or stay stable? Was anything else discovered?

Thanks so much. It’s been a rollercoaster, and would love to hear similar stories no matter what the outcome was ?
