Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Napping during the day

My baby is 10 weeks old and she’s a great sleeper during the night. She sleeps in her crib all night long. But, during the day she’s having a really hard time napping. She will only do contact naps when she does manage to nap, but will get increasingly cranky and fussy as the day goes on because she’s tired and can’t sleep. I feed her, rock her, sing to her, give her the pacifier and nothing works to get her to fall asleep during the day.

Re: Napping during the day

  • Contact naps were our norm for a while. I eventually started wearing her in a wrap during the day and she'd sleep much easier that way.

  • Oh, how I remember the struggle of daytime naps with my 10-week-old! While she was a champ at sleeping through the night. During the day, she was fussier, having gas and silent reflux which results in battling daytime naps. I tried everything: rocking, nursing, singing lullabies, pacifier... you name it. But as the day went on, the fussier and more overtired she became. It was exhausting for both of us. After doing some research and reading a few testimonials, I came across something called Baby’s Magic Tea. I figured it was worth a shot — and honestly, it was a game changer. It’s made with natural ingredients, safe for infants, and within a couple of days, I noticed she was settling easier during the day. She started napping better (still short naps sometimes, and her overall mood improved because she wasn’t so overtired.
  • Totally normal! Their sleep is still maturing. I remember contact naps were all we could do until like 12 weeks.
