Timing/Testing/CS: my fertile window is open so we have started BD EOD

How are things going? Any questions?: My fertile window opened early and my OPKs are pretty dark for this phase of my cycle. I’m hoping I don’t ovulate before CD14. I don’t want my cycles to start shortening. Maybe this means I’ll get a positive LH by CD12 and get my shift by CD14. That would be nice.

R/R: I just got back from my first backpacking trip in the back country. It was awesome. We had amazing weather and a river bed beach all to ourselves. The mountain views were amazing. I went with my best friend and we had the best time. We are planning another one later in the season. We won’t go as far out so we won’t be roughing it as much as we did. Man, coffee and hot chocolate are amazing out there. Any hot dish is also amazing. When we got back we went to a Mexican place and just ate a ton of food. It was amazing!

    TW mention of LC

We took our older kids with us and they did awesome. I left my youngest who is still nursing. He is almost 22 months and still nurses like a newborn. I’m using this opportunity to night wean him. He only woke once last night and I refused to give him any milk and he finally went back to sleep and is still sleeping. I was away from him for 3 days and 2 nights so his little world got shook. I’m hoping night weaning him may help me have a sticky baby. My uterus contracts a good bit when I nurse while pregnant. So weaning him is probably the direction I need to go at this point.

  • WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): Matching phase for embryo adoption

    WTO/TWW: WTO (CD 7)

    Timing/Testing/CS: None right now

How are things going? Any questions?: I got an update from my clinic on Friday evening. They are halfway through reviewing our embryo match. We had been matched with embryos from two placing families (for a total of 3 embryos) and they reviewed one family’s embryos so far, but my doctor has said no to those embryos (long story short, previous embryos from that couple had a low success rate so these wouldn’t have a good chance). They said they will review the other match early this week, so I should know more soon. I’m not 100% sure what happens if they say yes to one match and no to the other, so we’ll see.

R/R: Just got home from our trip and I’m so excited to sleep in my own bed tonight! (Although it was nice not to have to share the bed with our cats on vacation lol)
  • @britters314 So you have 3 matches as of now and they have said no to one?
  • @emeraldcity603 It’s two matches - one couple with two embryos and one couple with one embryo. They said no to the set of two embryos, so they have one more embryo to review.
  • @britters314 Do you think they will approve it? This is a bit nerve wracking. I understand why they are picky but I would be so anxious.
  • @emeraldcity603 I did get an update that they contacted the agency for more information. A half-sibling of the embryo has a medical condition and they want to be able to determine if it increases the embryo’s risk. I did know about the half-sibling’s condition and read up on it before we said yes and the general consensus seems to be that siblings have a higher risk, but because of shared environmental factors, not genetics. So I’m personally not too concerned, but idk what my doctor will say.

@britters314 I know the waiting is awful but hopefully it's a good thing that your doc is being careful. I'm sure they are just trying to get you your best chance at success. Sorry you keep getting derailed.

Timing/Testing/CS: LH testing was weird this cycle and I never got a good peak

How are things going? Any questions?: I finally got some blood work done to get a referral for fertility treatments. I'm not happy with my AMH number but I'm hoping since my other numbers look fine we'll still be able to do IUI rather than having to jump to IVF. Feeling very discouraged this week and it's def distracting me from my already very stressful job.

    R/R: None.
  • @ferret22 My LH has been up and down this cycle too. Plus I haven’t had much CM. So my fertile window is taking its dear time opening. We also have my in-laws here for the duration of my predicted window and that’s going to be a little awkward trying to fit in time to BD while they are breathing down our necks. 😅

Hopefully your clinic comes up with a plan that you’re comfortable with. I’m sorry you’re feeling so discouraged.
  • Update: my clinic told me they are saying yes to the match! However, since they said no to the other match that only gives us one embryo. So we have two options: we can move forward with just this match or we can still keep this match but also ask our agency to find us another match in place of the one my clinic said no to. It would be an easy decision if we wanted more than one baby, but we only really want one more, so maybe it would make sense to take our chances with just one embryo. (We can always start the whole matching process again if it’s not successful but idk if we’d want to)
  • @britters314 That’s so exciting! So now do you start a medicated cycle so they can time everything just right?
  • WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): BD

    WTO/TWW: I think we're in ovulation day

Timing/Testing/CS: I have been so tired that I haven't been testing because you have to test with FMU and it takes like 10 minutes, so I decided to say F it this cycle and just try to be more in-tune with my body.

How are things going? Any questions?: No

R/R:  I had a routine mammogram/ultrasound done and they found something on the U/S that they think is probably benign but they want to monitor, so I am dealing with that now. I'm more irritated than anything.
  • @fifilala516 I have benign adenomas in my breasts. Three I think. They only appear when I’m lactating and engorged. I have had them biopsied once and it came back as normal. It’s weird for sure. I’m sorry it’s something you’re dealing with now. Do they plan to biopsy it?

I thought I was going to ovulate early or at least on time to is cycle and that doesn’t seem to be happening. My fertile window is being soooo slow. It’s barely open and making the slowest progress it seems. I’m CD13 and just twiddling my thumbs.
  • @emeraldcity603 I am pretty sure it's a fibroadenoma. Their recommended course of action was to repeat the ultrasound in six months, but at the behest of my mom (and after speaking to a co-worker who has battled breast cancer), I am going to another doctor for a second opinion.
  • @fifilala516 I agree you should get a second opinion. I would also push for a biopsy. It’s a simple procedure and it would give lots of peace of mind.
