So not long found out im pregnant for the first time just as I turn 39.

I'm happy but also nervous but also surprisingly calm. We've told my parents and telling his next week, we are just short of 6 weeks. I know im gonna be a high risk pregnancy due to age and weight but I also had major heart surgery as a baby, not sure how that'll affect me now.

Trying my best to take it like a day or a week at a time as I know anything can happen. Doctor sent me a link to register with my pregnancy notes which has been marked to follow up with some date and word/code which i know nothing about.

So far I've had 11 symptoms and probably gonna have more. Hoping there are other mums who had first so late in life. My next milestone to over come will be a scan to confirm there is a baby in there. My body is not craving and not enjoying anything sweet now, so believe my body is making sure I can be as healthy as I can be for my baby. Drinking so much, eating fruit and veg....like gone off fizzy drinks and sweets and chocolates like I can eat them but I just dont enjoy them so no point.

We have sort of discussed names and found 2 names we like for a boy. I know its getting a bit ahead of ourselves but our 10 years together had been so rough that this is maybe finally our time to be happy (touch wood).
