Re: TFAS w/o May 12

  • WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? Range from 23-21 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I hope tomorrow I see a second line.

    Any questions? No

Rant/Rave? My 3 yo stuck a head up his nose yesterday. We were at the airport and tried to get it out but he just got super agitated. So we waited until we got to the hotel. I covered the clear nostril and blew in his mouth and that thing shot out like a rocket and hit me in the face. It was crazy! I have never had a kid stick anything up their nose. So that was a first.

GTKY: Did your family do anything special for you for Mother’s Day? I was packing for our trip. I got a card my husband got for the kids to give me and it said happy birthday instead of Mother’s Day. He has a stash of cards and he said he read it 3 different times. I found it pretty funny.

  • @emeraldcity603 My oldest stuck something up his nose once right before we were going to leave on a road trip. He couldn’t tell us what it was so we didn’t know if it was something dangerous and had to take him to urgent care. Didn’t get home until late, had to leave early the next morning, and they weren’t even able to get it out. I wish I had thought to try to blow it out lol

What number are you trying for? 3

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 6.5 and 7.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? This was a TTA cycle

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? I had someone ask me yesterday if my 6 year old is autistic, which he is not. This is the second time someone has asked me something along those lines and both times he’s been behaving normally for his age. But he’s really big for his age and people think he’s about 2 years older than he really is. He actually has some friends who are 10 who are the same height as him. So I can see why if they think he’s 8-10, but he’s acting like a 6 year old, they might think he has some developmental delays. But it still seems rude to go up to a stranger and ask that.

We went out to brunch and the kids gave me necklaces they made for me in church. It was nice.
  • @britters314 That is so rude and I wonder what goes through people's minds. I have a slight disability that isn't noticeable really at first (at least, I think) but I can't tell you how many times people just come up to me and ask what's wrong. I would NEVER do that to anyone, especially someone I don't know...

What number are you trying for? 2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? I am pretty convinced all cycles will be for naught until I test my levels, which isn't happening until next month at least

    Any questions? NATM

Rant/Rave? Just working for the (birthday!) weekend.

GTKY: Did your family do anything special for you for Mother’s Day? I spent the morning yelling at my daughter and the rest of the day feeling bad about it. We had a BBQ at my in-laws in the afternoon.
  • @britters314 someone told me one of my kids is autistic and I should get him diagnosed even if he really isn’t so I could “get all the services.” I don’t want services. I don’t outsource many things and labeling my kids isn’t something I’m interested in. Especially when they are just being kids. I think autism is over diagnosed these days.
  • @emeraldcity603 I was going to say what doctor would diagnose someone with autism if they don’t really have autism, but then I remembered a doctor once tried to tell me my oldest has ADHD after seeing him for 5
minutes. He was acting perfectly normal for a little boy who had been waiting in an exam room for half an hour with no toys or books to keep him occupied. We never went back to that doctor after that lol
  • @britters314 Boys need to be able to move. If my boys were in public school they would be pushing for me to get them medicated. One of my sons does his school work balancing on his head. I’ll be reading and he is literally balancing on his head. I’m ok with it and I try to give him plenty of movement breaks. Kids shouldn’t be expected to sit still like an adult.
  • @emeraldcity603 I absolutely agree, the conventional school methods just do not work for most kids, for a good reason. I was in trouble so much growing up for being unable to stay quiet or still and as an adult it blows my mind that we expect kids to do what most adults can’t even do.
  • Disney with the kids was fun but apparently I have done an incredible job of sheltering my kids from things that would scare them or that is too violent. 😅 Every single ride scared my kids. My poor 3 year old became hysterical after Snow White which is definitely the scarier storybook ride but it took half an hour to calm him down. I also remember the haunted mansion as being more Casper the friendly ghost and it was definitely terrifying for my kids. 😅 My kids felt betrayed after that ride and probably won’t trust my judgement of how scary a ride truly is moving forward.
