Trying to Get Pregnant

Is this a positive ovulation test + introduction

Hi! I’m Kelsey I’m 29 trying to conceive my first baby! I have irregular cycles but am trying to learn them. I have taken an ovulation test today and according to my app I should ovulate tomorrow. TMI but I also have very water cm like basically looks like water. I’ve read that’s when you’re most fertile. So I’ve BD twice today. What do we think about this ovulation test? It says it is supposed to look similar to my control line or darker which I believe it’s almost just as blue as the control line. It also said not to worry about the thickness only the color

  • Hi! We have a newbie thread for people to introduce themselves. We also have an OPK thread pinned at the top of this board. I hope you dive into our weekly threads and participate. There are a lot of knowledgeable ladies here and great community.

As for your question, that OPK is not positive or even close to being positive. The color is much lighter than the control line. Keep testing and I’m sure you will see a peak. It can happen fast for some women and they test multiple times a day so they don’t miss their peak.

I agree. Seems to me that it's not positive. But it doesn't mean it won't. Keep testing, especially the first pee in the morning. Fingers crossed, dear.
  • Ditto what everyone else said, but also while watery CM is good, the most fertile CM is egg white CM so you should be on the lookout for when it changes to egg white consistency

That's not accurate for all OPKs. Mine say to test LH in the afternoon, as that's when LH usually surges for most people. Pregnancy tests are first morning urine, but that's a different hormone.

I agree that it doesn't look positive yet. Just a thought, I find it easier and cheaper to use the quantitative strip tests that you read with your phone. Then you don't have to do guess work on what's a positive LH peak.
