Best experience ever! I'm glad we waited to find out the sex. My husband hot yo announced go the entire room it is a girl. Moment I'll never forget. It's only 1 of 3 times I've seen my husband cry.
Baby #4 we decided to find out the gender. I personally loved not knowing, but when she was born everyone was more concerned on my bleeding then checking gender. Took forever it seemed till I could ask hubby what it was! I'm undecided if I want to find out again. Mainly because of not having enough backbone to say I don't want to know!🙃
We chose to wait until birth to find out our baby's gender, and it was such a special experience! Not knowing added an extra layer of excitement throughout the pregnancy, and I loved imagining both possibilities. It was an incredible moment when the doctor announced, "It's a boy!" right after delivery. Everyone in the room shared in our joy and surprise. For us, it made the whole journey feel more magical and less focused on gender-specific preparations. It's not for everyone, but if you love surprises, I highly recommend it!
Same with us. We waited for the baby to arrive, and I can't explain the feeling of excitement and gratefulness that made us cry. It's true, it made the whole journey more magical and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Pregnant with our fourth and have waited each time. It can be annoying to others to wait, but it is such a fun surprise and there as so few good ones at this stage in life!
Plus, your first time around you get a lot of useful gender neutral items, which is great to be able to use for subsequent babies (if you choose that route). And, people will buy you clothes after either way. I also think it might help with potential gender disappointment as you are meeting your baby in that moment (could be wrong since I haven’t done it the other way!)
I would say you might want to designate a town crier to announce the birth. With my first there were complications and so getting him to the table to be assessed was more urgent and so it took a bit for me to find out. Since then, I’ve made sure my husband is ready in case the doctors or nurses don’t.
