Scents & Smells

Currently 7weeks 5days and smells have started to REALLY bother me this last week. 😵‍💫 This is my first pregnancy so everything is new to me! I haven’t had really any morning sickness. I’ve had some dizziness occasionally and mostly just feeling like complete poop. 

But the scents and smells are about to drive me crazy! Currently online shopping for unscented everything. My laundry makes me want to gag. My lotions do the same. What’s really difficult is I make & sell handmade soaps and I use essential oils to scent my soaps. Yesterday I made a batch of oatmeal lavender soap, which is usually one of my favorites but I had a headache all day and into this morning. Every time I smell the lavender I kinda want to barf. So weird to me because scents have never bothered me this much. This morning I also noticed my husband’s cologne did not set well with me 😐 
Anybody else having such weird feelings towards scents & smells?

ugh, yes! i totally get that, smells can be so overwhelming during pregnancy, it's like your nose is on high alert or something... maybe try some unscented stuff for now, it might help a bit!
here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says....

"It's completely normal to experience heightened sensitivity to smells during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Many women report similar experiences, and it can be quite challenging, especially since you work with scents in your soap-making. To help manage this, consider using unscented products and ventilating your space well to reduce overwhelming odors. Have you noticed if certain smells are more bothersome than others, or is it a general sensitivity to all scents?

Yaaaaaasss I am also shocked by how much every smell is bothering me.  I’m instantly nauseous from so many things and I was always fine around smells before.  Coffee, scented lotions, cigarette smoke, certain foods, I am walking around with my scarf over my face constantly. Hopefully this is temporary!!
