Silly question, but does anyone know from experience what makes diaper bags special? I’ve seen some “diaper bag backpacks” that look cute and of course they all say they’re the best. But my thought is, could I just use any ole school backpack I already have lying around?
@watermelonsunshine You definitely can use any old backpack you have lying around! Typically, diaper bags have a lot more compartments than normal backpacks, and compartments specifically for bottles. So that helps to keep the bag organized, but I’d say that’s really the only benefit!
thank you!! It finally made sense when I looked at one at a store instead of just online but maybe it’s something I could skip buying for now and figure out later if I need something special!
I bought a diaper bag backpack but really I don't think it was necessary. I use a different back pack now for kid stuff and will use it when our newest baby comes as well.
What helps is having multiple compartments to be able to organize items so you don't have to dig around for things like a diaper and wipes during a diaper change.
I did like that the diaper bag backpack looked like a diaper bag, so I think it was less scrutiny when I entered a shop or store carrying it (large bags aren't allowed in many stores in my area). But honestly if someone sees you bringing a baby anywhere they should be able to figure out why you carry a bag with you.
