1st Trimester

Balancing rough symptoms and work in 1st trimester

I started a new job last month before I found out I was pregnant, and so I’m still on orientation. I missed all last week due to debilitating exhaustion and continuous nausea and vomiting. This led to an ER visit because I got so behind with dehydration that I required two bags of IV fluid and 3 different antiemetics. I’m only 8 weeks along and I feel horrible. I’m literally sleeping 15 hours a day. I’m not sure my body can handle the 13 hour shifts and idk what to do about it. I’m nervous I’m going to lose my job bc of days missed. Any advice on when these symptoms get better? Or how to combat any of these symptoms to help even a little? This is my first pregnancy and it’s been agonizing.

  • Balancing rough symptoms and work during the first trimester can be challenging. Fatigue, nausea, and other pregnancy-related issues may affect your productivity. It’s important to communicate with your employer about your needs and explore flexible arrangements. If you’re renting, be aware of tenant rights, such as those under Section 21, which may impact your housing stability while managing these changes. Keep the wording simple and clear for easy understanding.
