1st Trimester

Spotting for almost 2 weeks, concerned. Anyone else?

I started spotting brown a week ago on Monday, this Monday I finally decided to go to the ER since it has been a while and I had started seeing little small pieces when I peed. They did an ultrasound the sac was measuring 5 weeks 5 days and with a yolk sac. But no fetal pole. They drew blood and my HCG BETA was 20,000 I’m waiting to get scheduled for another draw. On Tuesday night I felt a little rush coming down and went to the bathroom, there was red blood with a clot (twice). I started crying because I’m starting to think I’m really miscarrying. Then it turned back to just brown spotting. Wednesday it was brown spotting again. Thursday morning my underwear had blood and when I peed a clot came out with blood and then just seeing brown spotting. Now today I felt a little rush and I went to the bathroom and blood came out when I peed ( no clots) just dark rusted blood also in the toliet bowl, maybe for 4 hours I had just that color spotting and then it went back to brown spotting. I’m so scared. I had 2 miscarriages before but there was never spotting it was always blood with lots clots. I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks with my doctor. I’m scared…

  • I’m so sorry you are going through this. The limbo of not knowing is so scary and stressful. When you had the ultrasound were the measurements close to where you thought you are? That’s still early and what they saw seems adequate for that far along. Have you been in contact with your doctor? Are they scheduling the 2nd hcg? I would think since your passing clots they might want to move your appointment forward to see if it’s a miscarriage or a hematoma. I did an early placement scan just to make sure it was in the uterus (I’m at a specialty clinic) and she even made sure to note if she saw a hematoma or not.
  • Me too girl 💞 hugs! Second pregnancy and we want our rainbow baby ! So.. just an FYI on all the studying I've been doing. .
Sometimes the placenta will disrupt if it's searching for nutrients and relocate itself which makes bleeding.
    It can be placenta lakes.
It can be subchorionic hematoma. Also been spotting for a week. Then the next week I would BLEED gushing blood every evening for about a week , enuf to soak a liner in 15-45 min. It was awful. Now at 9wk and still looking good! Sporting some but making sure I get all my food in and high dose progesterone.

  • Wow! I just came on today because I experienced quite a bit of blood yesterday. This is my third pregnancy I’m 39 and I unfortunately have had two miscarriages last year. It is so hard to not think the worst even though you’re supposed to be positive. I am from Maui and we don’t have the best healthcare system here so that itself is not ideal. My last two miscarriages I’ve had to go straight to the ER for an ultrasound otherwise you just can’t get in in a timely fashion which is horrible. My bleeding started yesterday around 945am (I’m 6weeks to the day) and haven’t had any spotting of bleeding yet until then. It seemed like a little too much blood to be coming up but put pads in and laid down all day to relax. I didn’t soak the pads just spotting but when I would go pee about a tablespoon of blood would come out. Of course I can’t get in to anyone here right away and my first ultrasound isn’t til Valentine’s Day. Any suggestions. Hope everyone is having a successful journey!
  • Also is anyone with miscarriages on progesterone? I asked my doctor about going on it cause I have more than a handful of friends who have and it’s helped them after their miscarriages but the doc I spoke with told me she has to see if I’m a candidate. She told me they would have to see if my cervix measures short of so I’m a candidate. All my other friends just asked to be on it and their doctors did it? Does anyone have any other feedback or is hawaii just weird?

I was out on progesterone after multiple miscarriages, all most likely due to genetic abnormalities. I recently found out I had another one and that the progesterone might have prevented it from passing naturally. She said while it didn’t hurt there really wasn’t a reason for me to be on it. I’ll have to decide and follow up with my regular RE to see if I’d even take it the next time I fall pregnant
