Introductions!

Re: Introductions!

  • I'm Jessica and I'll be 36 next month on the 25th which is also my first appointment.

    Due Oct 18.
I found out cause I was a week late and was terrified to take the test. Been with my husband for 3 years and have a 5 yr old and a 15 month old. I also have 2 cats, a 1 yr old puppy, 3 fishes and a bearded dragon.
I'm definitely tired as my toddler still is breastfeed and wakes up at night. Currently working on it as I want some sleep before the baby comes.

Fun fact I told my husband that I wanted to wait 18 months but prefer 2 yrs before another. He joked and said you will be lucky to make it 15 months and here we are 😆

  • Same due date and also first pregnancy here!!
  • Hi all, I'm Jamie, I'm from the UK, I'm going to be a first time parent (They/Them), and I'm due on the borderline of October/November - getting married to the other dad next month 💝

I currently have two modes: hungry or nauseous (Sometimes both! Never neither)

I'm worried about finding a wedding suit that'll fit me as I'll be 11 weeks on the big day so hard to know if I'll be starting to bump 😅 and I'm desperate for the fun part of pregnancy to start - I want to start comparing fruits already! Currently the lil squish is a apple seed

We have a "6 week" scan booked in for late March (actually over 7 weeks because we can't do maths) and that is entirely too far away as far as we're concerned
  • Hey October mamas! Just wanted to let you all know that I’ll be signing off this group. My pregnancy ended in an ectopic and right tube removal. The good thing is I’ll still have my left tube and left and right ovaries so more kids are still an option for me. I wish you all beautiful pregnancies!
  • 💚💜💙
  • @aguamalas sending you lots of prayers 🙏🏼
  • Hi I'm staci. Due date around Oct. 17th. I have 3 children, all about 15 months apart. My third baby was born sleeping at 35 weeks. I'm about 7 weeks based on my LMP but my cycles aren't perfect. I'm hoping for an ultrasound today!
I found out because I didn't have pms symptoms. But I also wasn't feeling pregnant so waited to test like 12 days late lol. Now im always starving. It was positive before the urine filled the window. I look huge already more like 12 weeks. I dreamt it was twins but i would probably die if that were true. This is our last pregnancy. I stay home with my toddlers and love our life. My husband works a lot but we enjoy time with family and animals and rodeos.
Fun fact I've lived in 5 states in the past 4 years and now live in Tijuana MX 🙂
Mamas trust your gut. And do more kick counts than necessary 💓
  • Introduce yourself: My name is Sarah, I’m thirty years old and I have Type 1 Diabetes. I am about 5.5 weeks along.

    Due date: October 31st 2025!

How did you find out? - I had a feeling to test and then saw a very faint line then took a clear blue test to confirm :) cried and did a happy dance then told my husband who also cried. This is our first :)

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) - I am a fine artist, a book girlie, have a lil cocker spaniel named Butters and got married October 2024 (very crazy last year)

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) - I’m feeling emotional, happy, nervous and all of the emotions really. I’m experiencing very light cramping, bloating, spotting, tender breasts and gas.

    I’m Anna, first time mom.
I haven’t had a period in 12 years so waiting for an ultrasound to get an EDD. Based on my personal estimates, should be Oct 29.
I found out because I was obsessively testing. Faint line on Feb 18th and it was stealing ink from the test line on Feb 22nd. Also verified with a professional, just waiting to do an ultrasound.

I’m excited for this pregnancy. Even though I hadn’t been trying to conceive, I wanted this for a long time. I feel really grateful I now have the opportunity to.

I have a difficult time w my mental health and had to stop all medications. I’m trying to be active in local and online mom communities so that I always have an outlet/support.

    Hello,
my name is Sami, I live in Minnesota, just turned 30. I’ve been lurking here for a few weeks and am finally ready to post.

Due date: due date is October 20

How did you find out? A few days late when I decided to take a pregnancy test.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
This is my 6th pregnancy, I have 3 daughters earthside. My most recent miscarriage was twins in Oct 2024. My spouse and I have been renovating a house for the last two years and living in an apartment in the meantime, we are almost at the finish line, hoping to enjoy maternity leave in our new home.
My oldest is 11, number two is 8, and youngest turned 1 in January. Hoping to have our two bigs and two littles and complete our family in October.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) HCG appt is tomorrow-feeling emotional. Hoping for a good outcome this time around.

GTKY: Fun fact! Tell us something unique or interesting about you! I work in a funeral home and love what I do.
  • Hi! I’m Erin, 37yo and this is our first pregnancy. We haven’t had our first appointment yet but due date is approximately October 2025.

I found out because I was a couple of days late, my boobs were sore and I was tired all the time…pretty textbook! My husband thinks I’m just tired all the time because I’m generally a pretty active person but I don’t usually have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

I’m feeling pretty okay, a little queasy and tired and my boobs still hurt—the struggle to find a running bra that works for pregnancy breasts is REAL. But otherwise I think I’ve been pretty lucky.

A fun fact…in the last 10 years husband and I have lived in 4 different cities in two states. We spend a lot of time outdoors (running, hiking, horseback riding, etc.) so we’re definitely going to need one of those baby backpack carrier things! :)

Hi everyone! My name is Laurel, I'm turning 37 tomorrow, and my due date is October 26.

We officially found out on March 1 after taking a test but I'd had some suspicions leading up to it. This is my first pregnancy. We've been trying for about a year now and were just starting to look into other options, so this is all very exciting.

So far things have been going well but today is the first day I've felt nauseous all morning. Spicy ramen saved me at lunch today! I've also woken up with pretty bad dry mouth for the past couple weeks.

I saw my family doctor for the first time last week and I'm set for my first blood work and ultrasound later next week. I don't do well with getting bloodwork so really not looking forward to having to do that multiple times over the next few months. Thankfully most of the techs are super understanding and give me the option to lie down for it.

I'm a bit of an obsessed dog-mom so a lot of my big excitements and worries are around how things will go with introducing our dog to the baby. Our dog is a sweet senior lady so I'm mostly worried about her feeling left out in her old age. We also have a rabbit who is much more easy going than the dog!

  • My due date is Oct 4th! So close!
  • Hi, my name is Pamela, I just turned 38 and due October 17th. This is my fifth pregnancy. One live birth( a son, now 7) and 3 missed miscarriages (between 9weeks and 15weeks). I wish I could be more excited about this pregnancy but I just can’t shake the feeling that something will go wrong. Praying this one makes it. We have our 11w4d scan April 1st. They have me on so many medications this time around that I’m scared there will be problems down the road (Blood thinner, low dose aspirin, 3 anti nausea meds, progesterone, prenatal and thyroid meds). Anyone else taking all of these meds?

Hi...you can call me Brownie, I'm a 49 y/o mother of 2, and 1 step. I've been married to my second husband for 9.5 years, but we've been together for 13.5. I live in Ohio, but have live all over the U.S. because I'm a disabled USAF Veteran. I'm not expecting, 😏...my daughter-in-law is, this is my first grandchild and I wanted to follow along with the pregnancy.

I had the book What to Expect When Your Expecting with my son (1996), who is the father-to-be, but there definitely wasn't any technology like we have now, then. With my daughter the internet was Just becoming popular and I joined an online community on a site called iVillage (that is now defunct) for women expecting in November of 2000. We are all still friends to this day, and we have transferred our group several times over the years to different online platforms. The last being FB, where it has been since 2008.

I am looking forward to my Lil Beans arrival, their expected due date is October 4, 2025. Which coincidentally is the same due date as their father. I told my son, wouldn't it be wild if his child was born on his birthday. He told me it would be the best birthday present ever! I agreed.

I am a craftswoman, and have spent my life learning how to create pretty much everything crafty that caught my fancy. When I was pregnant with my son, I taught myself to crochet. That was 28.5 years ago. I have been sewing since I was ten, my parents bought me a vintage singer sewing machine (1965) for my 16th birthday. I can also create a variety of other crafts, too numerous to name. So, for the purposes of this post we'll stick with the above two. I will say that my grandmother had a green thumb. In my family, they consider me to have a craft thumb. I intend to create a baby hope chest, filled with handmaded items for my daughter-in-law and grandchild. However, I will create a separate post to explain my idea behind that, because it'll be too long to explain it in my introduction.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, please ask.

    Due date: October 29th

    How did you find out?
I took a pregnancy test the day after I got back from vacation (I was pregnant before the trip began!) My husband was there, so I didn't have to tell him, which I preferred

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
We have no children or pets yet. I work at a children's hospital in sterile processing. I like to take walks and hike and write (fiction mostly). I recently got an English degree from a nearby university, so I'm doing a little job searching, but will probably take a break from that in a few months if nothing has worked out yet.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I'm tired, but my schedule is about to change from 7a-3p to 9a-5p, so I think I'll be able to get some more rest since I won't have to go into work at 7am anymore! I had my first ultrasound appointment today and it was great. The OB was wonderful and talked me through the whole thing. I also squeezed my husband's hand, which helped to have as a stress ball of sorts lol. I've been having lots of anxiety this week from some bad news (non-pregnancy related), but I think I'm starting to come down from the initial shock and calm down.

GTKY: Fun fact! Tell us something unique or interesting about you!
There are about 6 other pregnant women at my church right now, which is unheard of in recent years, so it's exciting to be a part of the club!
  • Hello, my name is Tiffiny. I am 40 years old and I am a smbc. I am pretty awesome, but have had no luck dating. And if I was going to miss out on being a wife, I definitely didn't want to miss out on being a mom.

I've waited quite a while to do this intro, because I did three IUIs last year (March, April, and June). The June IUI took but ended in a chemical pregnancy in early July. I was so excited that I had joined The Bump straight away and joined the March group, just to have to leave it... So, in an exercise of caution I have waited until now. I had to turn to IVF, and I had 14 mature eggs... 13 fertilized, 8 became day 5 blastocysts, and only one was a viable embryo.

And IVF calculator told me my due date is October 7th.

I found out officially via a blood test at my clinic, on January 30th (embryo transfer was Jan. 20th), but I took a home pregnancy test the night before.

I am a HS art teacher (about 16 years), I have two cats Agatha and Brontë (named after some of my favorite authors). This is my first baby and he will be my only baby. I dreamed of having four kids and now I'm just hoping for this one! I am single (sad for me). I have been injured or recovering from injury in some way for nearly six years, so I haven't been running like I normally would. I sew, crochet, embroider, read, bake...

I had a scan at 5 weeks and saw the flicker of a heartbeat. I had a scan at 6 weeks, and had a scan at 8 weeks, where I heard the heartbeat! It was really amazing!

It proved to be difficult to get a first OB appointment. I never knew that you had to register your pregnancy, and you can't have an OB appointment until you do. Registration appointment was March 7th. And first OB ended up being the morning of the 14th and that afternoon I had my last fertility clinic appointment.

Today I had my nuchal a screening and it came back normal, and now I wait for my NIPT blood work to come back (taken today).

Symptoms: Early days I felt ready for bed at 6pm, tender nipples, a lot of bathroom trips during the night, random waves of nausea here and there. Other than that, I didn't really feel anything. Week 14 today and still haven't had any symptoms.

I have run 29 half marathon (I'm trying to do 50 by 50, and now I have a lot to catch up on due to injuries, gaining a lot of weight, and now pregnancy), one full marathon, and countless 10ks and 5ks. I even ran a half marathon in Iceland!
  • I love these rattles! I see some like this on Etsy all of the time! 💚

Hi I'm Allison (37) and my wife Fernanda (35) and I are FTMs. I am carrying. We live in North Carolina, USA.

    Due date: October 23

We did IVF, this is our first cycle after 4 unsuccessful IUI attempts.

Fernanda and I have 3 dogs (husky and 2 beagle mixes). We love camping, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and watching true crime and crime dramas.

I have been lurking for a while on the forum but decided to finally add a formal introduction!

We are 3 months in now and feeling excited. We have our 12/13 week ultrasound this coming Tuesday, 4/15. We plan to keep the sex and baby names a surprise (even to ourselves).

Fun fact: Fernanda is from Mexico and we hope our little one will grow up speaking both English and Spanish.
  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I’m a little late to the party but just joined the bump! My name is Meghan. 😊

    Due date: 10/7/25

How did you find out? My husband and I had been trying for a few months and had a chemical pregnancy right before we conceived, then we both got covid. I was exhausted and thought I had lingering symptoms but then realized my period was 2 weeks late so I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! I then proceeded to take 2 more tests because I was in disbelief. 😂

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This is my first! I am absolutely over the moon as I’ve always wanted to be a mom. My husband and I have a golden retriever puppy who we love but also drives us crazy at times! I work full time from home and love to be outdoors, read, and spend time with loved ones when I’m not working. I’m also currently working on decorating our house, which I am enjoying a lot. (We moved in about 6 months ago.) My husband and I have been together for 6 years and married for 1 year. ❤️

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Now that I’m in the second trimester I am feeling great and starting to show! I had nausea in the first trimester and was really tired. Our first OB appointment was amazing! It was incredible to see our little baby and hear their heartbeat.

GTKY: Fun fact! Tell us something unique or interesting about you! I’m the first out of 4 siblings in my family (all in our thirties) to get married and now have a baby!
  • I love these! Bears are my favorite animal. 🥰

Hello All! My name is Rachel, I am 39 and I am a first time mom.  I am due October 9 (or October 14th from my cycle tracking app) to a little girl.  My husband and I have been married for 6 years and this is our first child for both of us.  We were trying for 2 months with using an app to track my cycle and on the day I was supposed to get my period I took a test just before bed and it was positive. I stared at it in shock and brought it to my husband who thought it was a covid test. lol

I am an ICU nurse and enjoy doing CrossFit and spending time at home reading with our 2 cats, Tuxedo and Potato. I am excited to join this community and chat with everyone as I am one of the last in my friend group to have a kid.
  • Very late to the party but only just joined the bump.

I’m Sarah. I’m in Canada and am due Oct 25! My husband and I were happily surprised by our news (I’d spent the day before taking the test at a spa, in a hot tub, drinking wine and enjoying a charcuterie board… oops!) The first trimester was an exhausting, nausea-filled roller coaster, but we are doing much better in the 2nd trimester, thank goodness.
