  • WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): BD and also just reached out to people about  starting back up the embryo adoption process

    WTO/TWW: WTO

Timing/CS: I thought we would have great timing because it was lining up with EWCM, but then I didn’t get a temp rise, so I still haven’t O’ed. No signs of my body trying again yet, so we’ll see. Though we may just bench ourselves until we get more embryos.

How are things going? Any questions?: Good. Glad H and I have come to an understanding. No questions right now.

R/R: We just bought some new bookshelves and they are already pretty full because our other bookshelves were overflowing. Idk where we would even put more bookshelves, but H keeps buying more books!
  • @britters314 I love books. I had my husband turn the closet in one of the spare bedrooms into bookshelves.

    WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): BD

WTO/TWW: I need 1 more temp to confirm I’m in the TWW.

Timing/CS: -3 or -4 if I ovulated when I originally thought I did. 0 if I ovulated the evening before my temp shift.

How are things going? Any questions?: I don’t like wonky cycles. I have been waiting and waiting for my temp to rise. I had finally accepted that it wasn’t and then it started to. I don’t really know what DPO I am. Did I ovulate when I originally thought I did or did it happen the evening before my shift? Who knows. I’m not feeling any of my normal “signs” if I did ovulate when I originally thought I did so that is disheartening. If I ovulated the night before my shift I have perfect timing. I’m confused because a 4 day delay in a temp rise is a long time. Anyways, that was a lot of ranting.

R/R: We survived hurricane force winds yesterday. Winds got up to 125mph in some places and people’s windows were getting blown out and trees fell on a lot of houses. The sewer system got clogged with ice and some areas had massive flooding. Their basements had several feet of water coming in. We lost power all day. I had 2 friends that came over and hung out most of the day so it wasn’t miserable. Alaska is very confused about the season. It was raining and then it would snow. Now we have another sheet of ice over every surface again. It dangerous to drive through any mountain pass due to the risk of avalanches. Avalanche season isn’t until March and April. It’s crazy!

  • @britters314 I feel you on the house overflowing with books! I had to institute a "1 book in, 1 book out" for my husband. Recently learned he's actually just been taking all of the "out" books to his office but I guess I can't complain about that solution since it's still out of (my) sight, out of mind :D Great to hear you and hubs are back on the same page about embryo adoption, excited to hear how the process goes for you! Hopefully faster this time since you've already done all the tests and visits and family profile and whatnot?

How are things going? Any questions?: Follicle 2 has entered the chat!!! Still want it to get a lil bigger (13mm) but they said it's already in good shape to serve as a corpus luteum, which is what we really want it for.
Actually had a bit of a panic because Follicle 1 is a real chonk already at 20.1mm on just CD6 and they worried I'd ovulated over the weekend. But bloodwork just posted in my portal at 0.40 ng/mL so I'm pretty sure we're ok there. I raced to the car to do my ganirelix injection (ngl felt like a bit of a druggie shooting up in a parking garage) and we're quite hopeful it'll kick in in time and prevent ovulation until we're ready to trigger.

R/R: Ok this is SUCH a minor rant because I couldn't have imagined better results than what we saw today on the US, but this cycle is going so fast that it looks like all the acupuncture appointments I scheduled for an FET the week of January 27 are moot, and they've got next to no morning availability for the week of January 20. Le sigh. I can go the evening before. It's not the end of the world. I was just so proud of myself for getting everything planned out up front.

  • @emeraldcity603 Sorry it's been such a wonky cycle. I was never an early tester so pinpointing exactly where I was in the TWW wasn't particularly important to me, I realize others feel differently, but I'd encourage you to just try to find peace with knowing you did what you could and the outcome will become clear in due time. Perhaps there's even some relief to be had in knowing it's out of your hands for the next lil while!
  • @emeraldcity603 @aisleofviewtwo Oh, don’t get me wrong. I love having tons of books. But I just wish H would utilize the public library more instead of buying every book he wants to read. We have so many books that he either hasn’t read yet or he will never read again.

@aisleofviewtwo Yes, things should go faster this time since we don’t need to do all the adoption education parts of it. My doctor’s office already said I’m good on tests, so I’m just waiting to hear if we need to renew our home study. Also, so glad to hear numbers are looking good for you!

Timing/CS: I'm interested to see if I ovulate on time following the CP I have in the past so we shall see.

How are things going? Any questions?: I'm just here.

R/R: My GP was so nice last week when I had to see her for a non pregnancy issue. She told me to stop minimizing because it sucks. I also got a new tattoo because emotional support tattoos are a thing and it itches!

  • @aisleofviewtwo I’m a chronic frequent tester. I have no self control. So I do like to know how many DPO I am so I can start testing. I’m glad you got some good results at your US. I’m sorry the acupuncture appointments can’t line up the way you would like them to.

    TW…
@mambo5-2 I have always ovulated slightly later after a loss. Surprisingly each time it’s happened by CD21 or shortly after. Hopefully it won’t take too long for you.

    Maybe TWW?

    Not sure
How are things going? Any questions?:
It seemed like I had EWCM on the 6th so we BD’d that night. I didn’t have my usual mood swings and skin break out so I don’t feel confident. My cycles are pretty irregular so it’s tough to say. I need to just go out and buy a frickin thermometer battery.
    R/R:
I’ve successfully up’ed my work out frequency to 3-5 times a week, which I’m really proud of. But I’m also struggling with energy level, probably from not getting enough protein/calories/electrolytes/whatever afterwards. I know I can fix this, it’s just hard to get new routines in place.

@britters314 Like most Januarys, I have resolved to read more this year. I have a variety of books I bought and never read. I finally finished one this weekend!

@emeraldcity603 I imagine you get this a lot but that’s so cool you live in Alaska! I’d love to see it (or an exceptionally small part of it) some day. And going back to the last thread, it’s possible O day was the 7th but that would also be one of the shortest cycles I’ve had in the last year. It’s almost a little bit of a relief that the husband is gone so I’m not worrying about it. The timing just is what it is.

@aisleofviewtwo Your rant makes perfect sense to me. When I’m on top of things and have it all mapped out and then something throws a wrench in it even if it’s for the better I’m like NO I HAD THIS ALL TOGETHER.

@mambo5-2 Cheers on the new tattoo! My tattoo artist opened her booking window for winter and spring and I alllmooost put in a request. I wasn’t ready to commit to my idea though so I didn’t. What did you get?
  • @pinkkillersheep ovulating on CD 7 is super early! Are you temping to confirm your ovulation? If not, you should. It could give you way more insight. Alaska has been quite the adventure. I’m convinced Alaska tries to kill you in different ways depending on the season. You have to be super careful about places you visit. We have tourists who die every year. We have legit quicksand up here called mudflats. People walk out on them, get stuck, struggle to free themselves, sink further and further, and then drown when the tide comes back in. We have packs of wolves that are active around town, bears, and moose that all will kill you. We have an ice season, avalanche season, windstorm season, rain season. It’s intense. The amount of gear I have bought just to get outside and do stuff is crazy. Some summers it doesn’t get warm enough to wear short sleeves because it just rains all the time. DH grew up in Alaska and we moved here to be closer to his family. I have struggled with the snow we get because I grew up in Alabama. Which is why I started skiing this year. I want to enjoy winters more.
  • @britters314 I'm the book problem in my house. I have started listening to more audiovisual but I still have a nice collection that I have a hard time parting with. And then there's the cookbooks. I seem to buy a new one every few months when I come across a good one. I don't necessarily mean to keep adding. It just happens! I'm glad you and your husband are on the same page about the embryo adoption.

@emeraldcity603 I'm not happy about my wonky cycle either and I hate not knowing for sure what DPO I am. I'm also a chronic tester. I try to relax, but I also feel like knowing how early I can get a BFP is good for science or something haha. And ok, Alaska sounds crazy! I've always been fascinated by the idea of visiting, seeing the Northern Lights, but maybe I'll pass and not die instead!

@aisleofviewtwo it sounds like you got great numbers!! That's exciting!! But I feel you on going to the trouble of making plans only to not need them. It feels very *womp, womp* but the great numbers is worth the wrenches in your plans I say.

@mambo5-2 it's so easy to try to minimize our own troubles when they seem small in the grand scheme or compared to others, but it's important to recognize that they're valid and deserve some attention too. What is your tattoo?

@pinkkillersheep it's like we're living parallel lives. My freaking thermometer battery needs replacing too 😒 also, I admire your dedicating to working out. Every so often I get the desire and it only lays a few weeks before I'm back to my couch potatoe self. 🙃

    WTO/TWW: TWW - I think

Timing/CS: I think 0, but maybe -2, I'm not 100% but I got one try in somewhere during my window so while I'm not optimistic, it's possible

How are things going? Any questions?: things are going. No questions

R/R: not much on either end at the moment. Just coasting
  • @peppyj9 You should totally come to Alaska. Just don’t do stupid things and maybe research the areas you want to visit. I’m hyper cautious about places I go and visit because of the things I have seen and heard of happening. If you ever want to get a really good show of the northern lights Fairbanks is the place to go. It gets cold enough for clear skies and they are spectacular between midnight and 3am. If you try to come further south to see them you may end up missing them due to the weather. Each season has its pros and cons. Definitely don’t come in spring though. It’s just a bunch of ice and everything is still dead looking.
  • @emeraldcity603 good to know! If/when I go, don't be stupid. 👌🏻 I was lucky to be able to see some Northern Lights in WA, right in my front yard this summer during the phenomenon where so many places got them.  I'm sure they'd be much brighter in Alaska though
  • @emeraldcity603 Alaska sounds neat! And kind of scary! Similar to how I feel about Australia lol.

@peppyj9 @pinkkillersheep Add me to the list of people who need to replace thermometer batteries. 🙋😂

    WTO/TWW: TWW

    Timing/CS: 0 or -1 I think.

How are things going? Any questions?: They're going ok. Some stress at home which I feel like makes me feel more stressed about the stress messing up our chances. Ugh, deep breaths. Did some retail therapy today which I normally never do. I haven't bought new clothes for myself in ages and have gained weight so I just feel uncomfortable all the time. I managed to find new jeans for $13! So that was really nice. I also bought a latte and a chocolate croissant so at least I felt like the cheap jeans balanced out my spendiness. It was a day to treat myself.

    R/R: None at the moment.
  • Okay my cycles are definitely being weird. Only on CD 14 and bleeding again. It just started this evening and isn’t heavy, but certainly seems to be more than I would expect for something like ovulation spotting. If it is my period, then I didn’t ovulate yet again. But I thought anovulatory cycles are usually really long, not this short?

  • @peppyj9 Thebpart of Alaska I am in it’s snowy and cloudy unless it’s -20/-30 below. So you get good views but you suffer while you view them. 🤪 This year we have seen some decent shows.

@ferret22 I think the most surprising thing for me so far has been the realization that we have an avalanche season. We had one a few years back in my city that came inches from taking out a lot of houses. It was huge and it took 2 weeks to clear the roads for people to get out of the neighborhood. The insects and “critters” in general that are in Australia freak me out. We don’t have that many “critters,” no snakes, no poisonous spiders, etc. I got swarmed by huge mosquitoes in the woods once because I stumbled into a swampy area. I was so traumatized I didn’t leave my house for a week afterwards. That was my first spring. 😂 also, I’m glad you spent the day treating yourself. We all need a day like that every now and then.

@britters314 Some women spot and bleed a small amount when they ovulate. I don’t think it’s super common but that is usually the case when women claim to have 2 periods per cycle. That could be what is happening. Or it’s just a random break through bleed.
  • @britters314 When I was charting the first time around TTC I had an anovulatory cycle that was 19 days. It’s possible I’ve had others but this is just to say I’ve had that experience.
@emeraldcity603 I think O may have been the 7th as in 1/7, which was CD14. But also maybe not. I plan to start temping next cycle. I was going to this time but still need to replace this stupid thermometer battery and I’m too stubborn to just buy one online. I finally stopped at Walgreens and of course they didn’t stock it at that one  :| Also I randomly had a friend last night say we should take a trip to Alaska and was like, “Weird, I was just talking about this on a message board” lol
  • @emeraldcity603 Yeah I thought it might be ovulation spotting (though I didn’t have any other signs of O), but now it’s definitely full-on bleeding, not spotting.

@pinkkillersheep It’s good to hear others have had similar experiences, thanks!
  • @pinkkillersheep Y'all should plan a trip, do an ocean wildlife tour, go tour a glacier where you hike out to it (winter is best for that but people do it in the summer…the ice caves are amazing!), enjoy the midnight sun (if you can…it’s hard for some people). Temping is nice so you can confirm. It has stressed me out this month but I haven’t touched my Tempdrop in months so I am not used to how it reads my temps. O by CD14 is nice. I was doing that regularly but I was also getting shorter cycles because my LP is only 12 days right now. Shorter cycles stress me out because I worry about perimenopause at my age. Clearly I deal with a lot of anxiety. 😜

@britters314 hopefully once that stops your body will kick into gear and do what it is suppose to.

As for me, I am symptoms spotting like a mad woman. I plan to test soon because I am assuming ovulation took place when I originally thought it did. Time will tell I guess. I’m just going to assume any test I take is negative so I don’t my hopes up too high.
  • @pinkkillersheep I got a book with magical watercolor background, it's so pretty and also my 3rd tattoo in like 2 months.

@britters314 weird cycles are literally the worst.

Put me on the list to visit Alaska!

  • If I ovulated when I originally thought I did I should be 9DPO. I tested and got a BFN. So, I either ovulated later which would line up with my shift or I’m out. If I count from my temp shift I’m only 6DPO. Which isn’t out of the realm of possibilities because I had trouble trying to determine what my body was doing this cycle.

  • @emeraldcity603 Even if you are 9dpo, I wouldn’t say you are out. I’ve seen people get a BFN at that point and then a BFP at 11 or 12dpo
  • edited January 17

    TW:
@britters314 I would definitely be out. I have only ever gotten a BFP later than 9DPO once and it was a chemical.

ETA: I’m not saying I’m fully out this cycle because my cycle has been weird but with a typical cycle I would be out by 9DPO. 😅
  • @emeraldcity603 I’m envious of how confident you seem to be in knowing how your body works! Every time I think I’ve figured out what mine’s about it throws a curveball and proves me wrong 😂
  • @aisleofviewtwo I have been charting for more than a decade. So I have seen many things in my charts. Delayed shifts, false shifts (from Tempdrop), failed ovulation attempts, etc which helps me to see what is happening at any given time. Plus, I have been in a few FB charting groups for years too reading charts and looking at how different rules apply. I’m just familiar with my body’s patterns. It helps that I have a regular cycle. If I had irregular cycles it would not be as easy.
  • Sorry for the wonky cycles and temping issues.

@emeraldcity603 hopefully your O date turns out to align with the temp shift -- that's what I'd lean toward unless you think there's an issue with your temps being accurate (illness/waking times etc)?  I'm team test early and often here too - FX for you.

  • @virginiaham I have been testing (with more than one brand) and the FRER test strips I have are giving indent lines. Definitely indent lines. They must be a bad batch. So I have tortured myself this week. Tomorrow will be 9DPO according to my temp shift. So I’ll test again and if it’s negative I’ll just wait for my period. I have not enjoyed not knowing exactly where I am in my cycle.

I feel you on the constant cycle of viruses. We are headed to church today and I will likely get something new. Do they ever wipe down any surfaces? I don’t think they do because I get a new virus every time I walk in the door.
  • @emeraldcity603 nooo I’m sorry you’re dealing with a bad batch & indent lines.  What other brands are you testing with?

It’s probably time to put in my hcg test Amazon order 🙃

  • @virginiaham I’m using the FRER strips, wondfo, and some other cheap brand from Amazon. I usually have stuck with wondfo in the past but they changed the color from pink to peach and it bugged me enough I bought a different brand. I know! So stupid but I hate them. I actually got an indent/evap line on all three the first time I tested. It appeared in the timeframe and then disappeared. What are the odds of that happening on 3 different brands? I have tested with all 3 every other time and only the FRER has been giving a consistent indent line.
