I have taken anxiety meds for a long time and have recently cut down to about nothing while pregnant. Unfortunately today my heart was pounding out of my chest where my partner felt it was best for me to take my as needed anxiety pill, Clonozapam. I’m super nervous as I know long term effects with this aren’t great. Anyone get info on just maybe a couple through the entire pregnancy?
Re: Anxiety Meds week 8
You’re doing your best, and it’s okay to prioritize your mental health when needed. Clonazepam is sometimes used in pregnancy for severe anxiety, and while long-term use might have risks, a single or occasional dose is unlikely to cause harm.
It’s a good idea to discuss this with your doctor to create a plan that balances your mental health and your baby’s well-being. They might suggest alternative strategies or medications if needed. Be kind to yourself, managing anxiety is part of taking care of both you and your baby!
