Angry during pregnancy

I am 5w2d and I am starting to feel irritable and angry all the time. Is this normal? What do you guys do to handle this? I feel like I lost control of myself

Re: Angry during pregnancy

  • Im 8wks and been off all my meds for two months now, and im losing my mind! I get angry at my husband for breathing to loud lol. Today I cussed my mother-in-law out and it wasn't the first time in past few weeks either lol... idk about advice, but your not alone :)... hopefully it will get better! Just take a nice shower, get a good snack, and watch a good show or movie you like. That's what I do 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Yes, mood swings are normal especially in early weeks of pregnancy. If you can, take short breaks and do breathing exercises, take short walks to get some fresh air. And I recently found a pregnancy album on apple music that calms my nerves when I feel like losing it. I am 5w3d so I can relate.
  • I am almost 11 weeks pregnant and I hate the feeling of being pregnant. Fortunately for me, my symptoms are tolerable. I haven't had much vomiting, my nausea is tolerable but I feel bloated all the time. I hate that feeling. I am beginning to hate the small changes in my body. I fear that I may actually hate the process of being pregnant. I am super grateful for this pregnancy and I can't help but to feel guilty for feeling this way.
  • Second time around, and the anger kicked in around the 7 week mark both times. I’m trying VERY hard not to lose my patience with my toddler while she flings food around the kitchen and throws tantrums over nothing. Send help 🤣
  • +one more angry pregnant lady. Omg I lost my temper while was talking to and insurance lady who was not helpful at all. I noticed rapid switch in my mood and had to calm myself with breathing after. I noticed that I need much more time to calm down now and I wast able to focus on my studies
  • I can’t say how relieved I feel to not be alone! This is my 4th and I’ve never felt so irritated allllll the time. It’s like Anger is living on my control panel 24/7.
  • Thank you for saying this! It’s how I feel as well. I am 37yo and feeling grateful and lucky to be pregnant and healthy, but also dreading just feeling physically crappy for the next 9 months. My symptoms are like yours, mostly just bloating and mild discomfort, but my body doesn’t feel like its regular self and I find it SO frustrating.
  • I get angry so fast atm and I have to be so nice at work which is a real struggle.
  • Feel the same way. I’m out for blood for anyone who crosses me. Sucks being sober all the time and having to be at work with a caffeine limit
  • yeah, totally normal, those hormones can be a wild ride, tbh! just try to take some deep breaths and maybe find a little time for yourself when you can.

"It's quite common to experience mood swings, irritability, and anger during early pregnancy due to hormonal changes. Many people find that practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or mindfulness, can help manage these feelings. Regular exercise, even a short walk, can also improve mood.

How have you been coping with these feelings so far?"
