  • Name: Kendall

    Location: CA

    Age: 28

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 33w0d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): Celery

    Team blue/pink/green: Twin boys!

Upcoming Appointments: Ultrasound tonight to check growth/fluid

How are you feeling?: How are we sleeping these days? Over the weekend I had the worst insomnia several nights in a row, being up for hours in the night partially due to just being so uncomfortable, just the worst, and leads to feeling so gross and sluggish in the day.

Rants/Raves: LOVE feeling these boys kick and move around!

Also, my husband and I powered through a bunch of nursery prep this weekend, including me painting a special mural for the babies which was really fun. Feeling much less stressed knowing the room is in relatively good shape now, because until this week it was a pile of boxes.

Questions: for STM+: As we're going through baby clothes that were gifted to us, we're now trying to figure out how much clothing we need per baby, so we can fill in and gaps accordingly. Any guidelines or general rules of thumb for how much clothing baby needs? Thank you!

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point.  What is a good show or podcast to binge? I love a fun short comedy, so my go to's will realistically probably be The Office, Parks & Rec, Brooklyn 9-9, The Good Place, How I met your Mother, etc.

Baby is the size of a (an): bunch of carrots

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: Monday for tests and then c-section Tuesday

How are you feeling?: @kendyb77 agree on the sleep thing. Ive been constipated and gassy and it just leads to me being up half the night which makes the next day so hard. And I definitely just feel slower in general. Needing more naps when I can find time for them.

Rants/Raves: The calendar changed to December and my brain started going crazy with all the things I have to do! Got everything washed over the last couple days so that feels like a win

Questions: Baby will be 36 w 5 d for delivery, which I'm a little nervous about. Anyone have any experience with your baby being a bit early like this?

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point.  What is a good show or podcast to binge?
8 years ago with my first I re watched how I met your mother. Recently I came across a show called "FOUND" which I think will be this years pick, but its only in season 2 so far.

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: Done!  Monday I woke up at 4am with heartburn and ended up throwing up and last night I woke up at 2am.  It wasn't as bad last night so I didn't throw up.  I ended up sleeping upright in bed for the rest of the night.  I was so stiff this morning and I felt a little nauseous.

Rants/Raves: This is a little of both.  I am so grateful for the people I work with.  They are so supportive and we are all really close.  However, I feel like I am spinning trying to train them and get my normal work done plus all of the year end stuff done before I leave.  Year end is always a bit hectic but adding in trying to fit training into everyone's schedule has been exhausting.  I have just 2 weeks to try to get everything done.  And I know if I don't or if god forbid he comes early they will take care of everything.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point.  What is a good show or podcast to binge?
TV - Dead to me, Superstore, Psych, and Grace and Frankie.  I could always watch Supernatural and Gilmore Girls again too.

I also loved How I met your mother, The Good Place, and The Office.  I have been trying for years to get my husband to watch How I met your mother.  Maybe I can force him while he's home with me.  Although we have a few other shows that we started and need to finish together.
  • @kmtz89 wow! 12/10 is around the corner! Wishing you a smooth and safe delivery 🙏🏽 May I ask why there is a planned c-section for your delivery and the timing (36 weeks)? Was this requested by you or doctor’s recommendation?

    Team blue/pink/green: boy

Upcoming Appointments: next Thursday MFM ultrasound + non-stress test. Next Friday routine Prenatal w/OB office

How are you feeling?: feeling more sleepy (harder to get up in the morning), although not needing a daytime nap most days. Experiencing some pregnancy brain and things take a lot longer or I’m a bit slower in completing tasks!

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: for those looking to go into labor naturally (no planned induction or c-section), are you going the medicated or non-medicated route and why?

Anyone else lost their appetite third trimester?

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point.  What is a good show or podcast to binge?

Succession, New Amsterdam, The Queen’s Gambit, Slow Horses, Madame Secretary, Bridgerton (yes I’ve watched all seasons including Queen Charlotte lol), Parks & Rec, Ted Lasso. Since we’re in the holiday season, I totally would be that person to watch the cheesy holiday movies! Haha

Baby is the size of a (an): butternut squash? I forget. Or a loaf of wonder bread

    Team blue/pink/green: boy

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 20, and then I start going every week!

How are you feeling?: Slow! My sleep is all over the place - some nights I sleep 10 hours straight, and some nights I wake up at 3 am and can’t fall asleep for an hour or more. And, when I’m wide awake, I’m hungry, so I’ve gotten up to eat in the middle of the night more this week than I did all of first trimester 😂 pregnancy brain is real, too!

Rants/Raves: work is so so so busy I don’t know when I’ll be able to finish the things I need to for my leave plan - @kamays54 I feel you! Technically I have 6 weeks left but of course baby could come earlier. I’m the only HR person so I have to find and train a temp before I go - otherwise it’ll be total chaos. But, rave, I think we’ve found someone great who I can trust to keep everything on track.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point. What is a good show or podcast to binge? Parks & Rec is one of my comfort shows so I’ll rewatch that endlessly! Scrubs, Arrested Development, The Good Place, Star Trek: TNG. (For fans of Michael Schur shows, he just came out with a new one: A Man on the Inside on Netflix. I there isn’t much to binge watch yet but it’s a delight so far!) For podcasts I honestly love Pop Culture Happy Hour - it’s interesting while being not serious and it’s always under 30 min.
  • @peacefuladventures I’ll find you on IG! My user name has my first name (Isha) in it. Also: Slow Horses is SO GOOD, good call on that.

I am planning on going into labor naturally but I will 100% be medicated hahaha. We did an exercise in one of our birth classes to help us think about a birth plan where we had to prioritize a bunch of potential options/outcomes, like vaginal vs c-section, ability to move around vs staying in the bed, etc. my top two were 1) healthy baby, and 2) get an epidural!
  • @peacefuladventures   thanks! and yes unfortunately I'm high risk of pre-eclampsia at this point, proteins are increasing in my urine and my blood pressure starting to sky rocket. I was already on aldomet 3x a day and now they've added nifedipine to help control my pressure until the 10th.

  • @peacefuladventures yes and no to the appetite.  There are times when nothing sounds good to me and I don't want to eat (like the first trimester) but other times I want to eat everything and anything.  Yesterday I went to grab my lunch and there was a chocolate Nothing Bundt Cake so I grabbed a slice of that.  Then I looked over at the other counter and there was a huge bag of Chex mix so I grabbed some of that as well.  And I still made my lunch lol.

@strongishmom I'm accounting and I do like 50% of HR.  My boss, who is one of the owners, does the other 50% of HR (the serious stuff).  She is only here part-time though.  But the 2 co-workers I'm training keep saying we are not allowed to hire or fire anyone and no one is allowed to quit while I'm gone.  Almost every time I'm on vacation that happens lol.  I'm glad you may have found someone.  I'm lucky that I have the people that I have, however, the last time I was on maternity leave I came back to a stack of things I had to fix.

Also, I love Ted Danson and Sally Struthers so when I saw that they were in a show together I was so excited.  I honestly didn't even know what the show was about but knew I wanted to watch it.  I don't get much time right now so I'm going to save it.  I'm glad to here you are liking it so far!

    Team blue/pink/green: blue
Upcoming Appointments: had a biophysical profile and nonstress test today, growth scan next thursday
How are you feeling?: feeling good physically, but mannnn the insomnia phase has begun so im definitely tired and feeling a little brain dead the last few days
Rants/Raves: Raves- im just so so so excited for the first time I get to hold baby boy, and for the first time I see my husband holding him 😭 at times im terrified wondering if I'm going to be a bad mom or worrying that i will I have no clue what I'm doing, but most of the time I am just so excited that I'm about to be a mom and that I get to love and care for this tiny little human made from love 🥺❤️
We got so many beautiful presents at my baby shower over the weekend. Im so grateful to have such thoughtful friends and family, and i know baby boy is going to be so loved
My rant for the week - it feels like i can never have a GOOD doctors appt lately. I never get to hear "everything looks great with you and baby". It feels like there is a new complication or concern every time I see a doctor and it is really starting to drain me. I am just praying baby boy is as healthy as possible, and trying to plump him up as much as possible over the next month
Questions: hmmm none at the moment

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point. What is a good show or podcast to binge?
I always love having a sitcom running as background noise - the office, HIMYM, it's always sunny, arrested development... They are all comfort shows for me.
Breaking bad, game of thrones and yellowstone (not loving this last season though) are my favorite dramas.
If anyone needs a good cry, Maid on Netflix was an incredible limited series about a single mom trying to leave an abusive relationship. Very heavy at times, but I thought it was amazing.. highly recommend it
  • @jaclyn-ak My birthday is on the 13th so I can verify it's a great day to be born! :)

    Team blue/pink/green: girl :)

     Upcoming Appointments: 12/9; regular OB

How are you feeling?: good, all things considered! I haven’t said that in a while and so grateful to be able to. She is starting to tip me over though lol. It feels like I need assistance to even get out of the car at this point 😂. Emotionally, just nervous and excited. We’ve done all the big projects and now it’s just the birthing class and I want to read more books on preparing for the newborn stage!

Rants/Raves: rant - I’m peeved at my OB office. They ordered a growth scan for me because of my continued low fundal height (now below recommended limits) and it’s been several days with no results. I’m just worried! With no information there’s no reason to worry, but there’s also no reason to be reassured. Just hoping to hear before the weekend

     Questions: NATM

GTKY: Since we are going to be up a lot when the babies come, I figure this is a good question to ask at this point. What is a good show or podcast to binge? You can’t go wrong with the funny shows you have listed - my favorites are The office, parks and recreation, friends, Seinfeld, sex and the city (while I still can ;)). Another favorite of ours is The League - it’s about fantasy football. It’s a little behind the times and can miss the mark sometimes, but man it’s also so good in other ways

@peacefuladventures - my hope is to TRY for a natural and unmedicated vaginal birth for a couple reasons - I don’t like the idea of losing my mobility after an epidural, and I’d prefer to avoid continuous monitoring (I think it increases likelihood of interventions like emergency c sections prematurely). I’ve also read it is SLIGHTLY associated with lower level/risk of tearing and quicker recovery.

That being said, I’m completely open to listening to my body and requesting an epidural if the pain is just too much. I have no idea what my tolerance will be.

And on appetite - no I have not lost it at all 😂
  • @fk18 doing the same! I am going to see how it goes, but I am VERY open to receiving an epidural if I really feel like I need it and can't handle the pain lol. I think I'm someone who has a low tolerance of pain, so I wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting it. I even have it on my radar to mention this when we enter into L&D to put me on the list to potentially receive, but that I will make the call along the way. I'm totally with you on the mobility piece, one of the top reasons why I'm considering un-medicated. Additionally, recovery time is shortened. There are pros/cons to both - - going to just go with the flow and see where it takes me. The lamaze style class I took, the doula and childbirth educator who taught it, had a good idea of having a # in mind before asking for an epidural ex: get to 5cm or 6cm - - that way you can be mobile up to then. It's when you get to 8cm where the pain is at its highest.

    @fk18
    @kamays54
thanks for sharing your appetite! I'm a bit annoyed that I've lost mine. Part of if it is that I just don't have any more room lol. So I'm trying to eat smaller and throughout the day.

@kmtz89 ah thank you for sharing and wishing you a safe and smooth delivery in a few days!!
  • @isha sounds good! look forward to connecting on IG
  • @peacefuladventures - that is helpful advice about the 8cm peak in pain! I’ll keep that in mind so I’m aware at lower cm it’s only going to get worse haha
  • @fk18 yes! Learned that in my childbirth class. It’s one of the stages of labor, the most intense but also the shortest. When you are from 8-10cm. So try to get the epidural before then. Not too early, but not too late. The doula said if you can get to 7cm, you can probably handle without an epidural lol
