Re: Weekly check in - December 2nd

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: February 18th / 29 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): acorn squash

    Team blue/pink/green: team blue

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow (growth scan) and Thursday for my 3hr glucose test

How are you feeling?: feeling heavier. Also have this weird pain in my Achilles

Rants/Raves: my current rant is the job market sucks which has been putting stress onto me and my family. Outside of that, I am starting to get more excited for lil man to get here. Though we still don’t have a name and only a short list of possibilities.

    Questions: not at the moment

GTKY: since it’s holiday season, do you have any traditions that you do? (i.e get a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.) not really. I used to setup my Christmas tree on the first day of December but I haven’t done that in a few years. My house doesn’t have much extra place for a tree. Not sure I’ll be doing a Christmas tree this year either.

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: 3 hr glucose on wednesday at the lab.

How are you feeling?: Like I can't catch my breath. Had my ferritin levels checked and my # is way too low. Waiting to get a call to come in for IV iron infusions. Really hoping it helps🙏

Rants/Raves: Not being able to breathe is my biggest rant.

    Questionss. None

GTKY: since it’s holiday season, do you have any traditions that you do? (i.e get a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.)

We always cut down a tree at a local farm the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 30+2, Feb 8

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 3

Baby is the size of a (an): zucchini

    Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow with ob, and growth scan with mfm. It's a big day!

How are you feeling?: so very tired

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling ready! We have the essentials that we need, I'm exhausted. But when I look at my belly, I feel huge and still so small, at the same time. It's confusing.

    Questions:

GTKY: since it’s holiday season, do you have any traditions that you do? (i.e get a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.)

We usually put the tree up right after Thanksgiving, but I started decorating early this year. Thanksgiving is an emotionally difficult holiday for me, so I needed a little joy.

@karlee05 I was trying to decide if this is normal third trimester tired, or if something is off. I'll be asking my ob to check my levels tomorrow, too!
  • @luckyduck42 Yes, you should. My hemoglobin was 10.9 and they want to see 11, so no big deal or cause for alarm. But I knew something wasn't right so I called and requested a full anemia panel.
  • Just had my growth scan. Baby boy is in the 97%ile and we'll over 4 pounds, by their measurements. I'm proud of his growth, and worried at the same time.
  • @karlee05 oh I feel your pain! I had this so bad 2 months ago. I’m now taking a separate iron pill 12 hours after my prenatal pill, and along with 2 vitamin c tablets to help the iron absorb. It took 4-5 weeks for my breathing to significantly improve. I can’t forget to take my supplements. Avoid calcium for 2 hours before and after taking your iron tablet as it won’t allow you to absorb it. Good luck.
  • @pregnantinthepnw, Thank you for the tips! I did temporarily stop taking my iron tablet because it makes me feel sick, among other things. But I get my first iron infusion on Monday and really hoping it starts to make a difference!
