November 2024 Moms

Induction

Anyone being induced; medically or electively?

 My date is November 12th @ 7:30am!! I’ll be 39weeks & 3 days at that point.

Ive been having irregular contractions for a couple of days and LOTS of pressure. At night the pressure is so much I’m having the urge to just sit and rest on the toilet!

Re: Induction

  • I just scheduled mine as a backup plan. I’m due the 16th, but if baby isn’t here by 7AM on the 20th, we are inducing then. I’m hoping to go into labor naturally, but if not, baby and placenta have got to get out because I have gestational diabetes.
I am with you on the pressure! Every time I stand up it feels like baby is going to fall out right now. I got a belly support band and it helps a lot! It’s basically the only reason I can get up and walk around anymore.

  • I was induced at my first and we will have a planned induction date this time around too if baby doesn't come on its own. I also have gestational diabetes. Since it's my second time, we are hoping baby will come on its own before our planned induced date. I didn't have a bad experience being induce the first time, but it'd be nice to experience it without it if I have the opportunity.

I have an induction scheduled too for 39+2. I’d love to avoid it because I don’t want to be in the hospital so long, but as a ftm I bet I won’t spontaneously go into labor sooner. Mine is medical because of some autoimmune issues that could also affect baby.

We also found out a few weeks ago that he has a varix umbilical vein (just a few millimeters larger than expected). Since it’s his only issue, he has a really good prognosis, but they definitely want an induction in the 39th week now if we don’t need to deliver sooner.
  • @mamahen521 lol “I feel like baby is going to fall out right now”. ACCURATE!
  • @lauraa44 praying everything goes well for you and baby!
  • My induction date has been on the books at 38+3 since I started taking insulin for my GDM 2 months ago. I’m grateful to try and move things along for our well-being and to reduce risk, but I can’t help but feel all our docs love induction because it helps them plan their schedules! 8 more days for me. Wishing everyone luck this November!!
  • I schedule my induction date at tomorrow’s appointment.  We’re looking for 39 weeks but maybe a little earlier because he’s already measuring big.
My brother-in-law’s bday is a exactly my 39 week day and I would prefer not to have baby that day so doing it earlier than that day worries me lol but then I have to push out an even bigger baby 😳
  • @mitchip I get trying to avoid birthdays! My Dr. suggested 40+2 for my induction and I was like “well…that’s my birthday and I’d rather not.” So we pushed to 40+4 but I’m also really hoping he shows up before then. If I spontaneously go into labor on my birthday, fine, it’s not like I have any plans, but I’d rather not have a planned induction that day. And my mom’s birthday is 39+3 so I’d like to avoid that too. Hopefully he will just show up on his own day in between the two :)
  • Congrats! Sending best wishes for a good labor and delivery your way.
  • @mitchip YAY🥳 so exciting
