I’m curious for those of you who have been pregnant before or currently pregnant: what did Braxton hicks contractions feel like for you? I have no idea what to expect from these…

I have had some pretty bad cramps for the past 24 hours that kept me up most of the night. I have been more gassy but that doesn’t relieve the cramps. No other symptoms I can tell. They feel pretty constant, not really coming and going too much. I’m curious if this is BHC or something else 🤷🏼‍♀️

My braxton hicks didn’t become noticeable until the 3rd trimester and they didn’t feel like cramps to me. It would feel like my entire bump got really tense, almost like my baby was sticking limbs in all directions — at first I thought the BHC was just weirdly positioned baby, but as I got better at feeling baby’s actual butt or feet shoving in one area I realized the BHC was more general. I usually wouldn’t notice unless I went to rub my belly and it was weirdly firm. They would usually last a few minutes and then go away, and I’d notice them a couple times a day in the last few months of pregnancy.

TL:DR for me BHC were more of a tightening/tensing feeling around my belly and less crampy. I would assume your cramps are related to something else, could definitely be digestion if you’re also gassy
