From the very beginning of my pregnancy I was told I would need to be induced at 39 weeks. This was because of my age, BMI and previous baby size in an effort to reduce stillbirth and c-section. Fast forward to 5 days ago for my scheduled induction at 39 weeks, that was recommended by my dr, and it was canceled 1 hour before due to hospital overcrowding. The day before L&D called to confirm my appointment for induction. I am now on day 5 of an induction waitlist with no end in sight. I was never told that my induction was considered elective and the hospital feels there is no medical reason to admit me. I will stay on the waitlist until I develop an emergent condition and will need to be admitted immediately. Neither my drs or the hospital are providing any comfort or answers to why I am in induction purgatory indefinitely. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I had to be induced at 42 weeks last time as I never went into labor. I am scared that I will continue to be pushed off until my baby is in distress. No one will listen to me at this point and no one seems to care about the health and safety of my baby.
