VSD found in 20 week ultrasound

I just had my 20 week ultrasound and was notified that my baby has a VSD (heart defect). Wondering if anyone has dealt with this and could share their experience.

My first baby had a vsd. She is a healthy 7year old. She had other complications, which led to surgery, but that is usually a small percentage of heart issues. 

Depending on the size of the vsd the baby may have a surgery- it could range from open heart to a one day catch lab procedure. sometimes they don’t even require surgery or fixing at all. Our drs told us that there are probably lots of people with vsds who don’t even know they had one.

you will have more ultrasounds and probably meet with a few more professionals.

I’m sorry you are dealing this. Keep staying healthy. Don’t think worst case until you are told that it is worst case.
