I’m 24 weeks and just had my cbc redone and it stated my mpv were high at 13.0 normal range is 12.4. When I was 7 weeks my mpv was at 13.2 . So it’s been high both times. Should I be concerned?

Re: High mpv

  • If your doctor didn't mention any concern the first time, I wouldn't stress about it too much now.  The fact that it went down instead of up is a good sign.  I know it didn't change by much but it's going in the right direction.  So many things change during pregnancy (especially with your blood volume increasing) and a lot of it is normal up to a point.  So just because a test comes up high or low it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem.  Also, those ranges don't take pregnancy into account so it might be in range for being pregnant.  If they don't call you about your results, I would bring it up at your next appointment or call them if you don't have an appointment for awhile.  Just for peace of mind.
