Baby is the size of a (an): Lemon

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: Ultrasound + 1st Apt with new OB today

How are you feeling?: ready to be out of the 1st trimester slump of sickness and fatigue. With both of my previous pregnancies I always felt great in the 2nd trimester and I am hoping to turn a corner soon!

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Morning. Currently writing this at 5:50a, before my kids get up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Baby is the size of a (an): orange

    Team blue/pink/green: 🩷

Upcoming Appointments: more blood tests on Monday

How are you feeling?: Was really excited to be in the 2nd trimester but just got my carrier screening results back and found out I'm a carrier for 2 things, one being cystic fibrosis. Know the odds are still low (1 in 25) that my husband is also a carrier and if he is, we still have a 3 in 4 chance our baby won't have CF. But tell that to my anxiety!

Rants/Raves: just kicking myself I didn't have husband do a carrier screening at the same time. Will be 2+ weeks to find out if he's a carrier for what I am.

Questions: Anyone else plagued by statistics and needing to remind themselves there's only so much they can control? If so, sending y'all love.

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Morning ☀️ ☕ 🥞

  • DD / Weeks + Days: Feb 8/ 15+4

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 3rd

Baby is the size of a (an): orange

    Team blue/pink/green: blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: next week with ob, and cardiologist

How are you feeling?: A bit better! I went almost two full weeks without vomiting,  so that is great! But fewer symptoms makes me worried.

Rants/Raves: school starts next week. Teacher summerbis over 😥

    Questions:

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Neither? I really like sleep! But I do function best in the morning.
  • @farmwifemimi it is so hard to ignore the statistics. I have been there, many, many times.  Right now there is very little you can do, but wait. In my last pregnancy, the nipt was high risk for Down syndrome, and waiting for the next step, the next test, the next set of results was painful. Try to stay busy, keep yourself distracted. I know you said your husband is being screened, but at what point can they test baby for CF? Can they do a CVS? Or do they want to wait for your husband's results because of the risks of that test?

Baby is the size of a (an): peach? Plum? Can't remember.

    Team blue/pink/green: 🩷

Upcoming Appointments: Next ob appt is Tuesday. Anxious to hear the heartbeat again.

How are you feeling?: After 2 months of 24/7 nausea, I think my symptoms are improving. Days are getting better.

Rants/Raves: I'm starting to look thick around the middle, but not yet pregnant😏

Questions: Have any of you moms given birth in the hospital and requested delayed cord clamping? Wondering how all my requests are going to be received.

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Night owl, always. Never a morning person, especially when pregnant and awake half the night.
  • @luckyduck42 appreciate you! Trying to stay positive that there's a 96% chance my husband won't be positive and if he is, there will still be a 75% chance baby won't be impacted. I also had only a 4% chance of being a carrier and am, but taking comfort in these low odds for him for now. I'm too far along for CVS but if my husband comes back positive we can do amnio within the next 4 weeks.

I'm glad you are feeling better - hopefully just natural symptom relief as you start the the 2nd trimester!

Baby is the size of a (an): navel orange

    Team blue/pink/green: 💚

Upcoming Appointments: OB visit tomorrow to follow up on SCH

How are you feeling?: Pretty crabby - I'm struggling to get enough sleep with all the times I'm waking up to pee and having a very energetic kitten. I'm also worried about the SCH not absorbing. I'm still having brown discharge two weeks after the initial onset of bleeding. I have an office visit tomorrow and potentially an ultrasound.

Rants/Raves: I miss my wardrobe lmao. I packed up all the pants and shirts I don't fit into now and it was a surprising portion of my clothing. Feeling a little frumpy.

Questions: We met with a privaye midwife for a consultation about home birth today. and tomorrow we have a meeting with a birth center. Any suggestions for things to ask them about?

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Night owl forever!
  • @farmwifemimi sorry for the anxiety you have for the testing, hope his results come back quick and can provide some peace of mind!

    DD / Weeks + Days: 2/7 / 16 weeks tomorrow

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): Orange I think

Upcoming Appointments: 9/5 at new OB

How are you feeling?:  stressed!!! See below 🫠 also huge!  This baby is definitely showing as a bump already and I’m starting to pull out maternity stuff.

Rants/Raves: We are moving next week to SC from NC and I am so excited but beyond stressed. Handling getting our house sold, packing, coordinating a painter, cleaner and fence company at the new house, then closing and moving next week, all while chasing a 16 month old and pregnant is exhausting!  My mind and body are so done, I am so overwhelmed and just ready to be there so we can be settled and get to start to enjoy this pregnancy more and get started on new baby stuff.  Also have a new OB that I meet beginning of September so anxious for that and discussing a possible VBAC for me.  Sorry for the long rant!!

Questions: none at the moment, sorry I haven’t posted much but life has been crazy!

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Morning, but only because my LO is up at 6 every day

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): lemon (or peach)

Team blue/pink/green: Just found out, team blue

    Upcoming Appointments: 9/6

How are you feeling?: stressed and a bit overwhelmed

Rants/Raves: I quit my job last week and will be starting my new job on 9/9. I have to move across the state with a 1 year old, a 12 year old dog and 11 year old cat. And my husband, who has been something, somewhere but mainly just been adding to my stress levels. So these past two weeks have been grand.

Questions: no questions yet. Just more random complaints

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Used to be a good morning person but my husband has been trying to get me to be a night owl over the years
  • DD/W+D: February 6th/ 16 weeks and 2 days

    FTM/STM/TTM: FTM

Baby is the size of a: Avocado 🥑 or Tiana's beignet from princess and the frog

    Team blue/pink/green: team blue

    Upcoming appointment: September 16th

How are you feeling: great except for the random migraines that hit.

Rants/raves: I have a baby daddy who told me to get an abortion, then went MIA until I was 14 weeks and then tried to come back around so I gave him the opportunity but then he demands the baby get his last name only and the hyphenated last name I suggested wasn't good enough but he has no intention of being there until after the baby is born. In my opinion that's too late and he doesn't deserve the honor of his last name being the only last name. So this baby will have my last name only. He said if I do that he won't claim him. Good riddance.

    Questions: no

Gtky: I am not a morning person but I wake up earlier on my own now, I can't stay up like I used to, I am an evening person haha!
  • DD / Weeks + Days: February 11th!

Upcoming Appointments: First appointment with new midwife next Friday! Ultrasound and general checkup.

How are you feeling?: Tired all. the. time. Otherwise, fine.

Rants/Raves: I've been filling out our universal registry, and having so much fun looking at cute baby stuff :')

    Questions:

GTKY: Morning person or night owl? Night owl for sure!
  • @alyssas19 👏🏼👏🏼Your little guy is in good hands with a mama who stands up for what feels right and doesn't settle for less.

Oof I'm sorry. That is so incredibly stressful. I feel like sometimes all the push to know so much information can be really overwhelming. I'm brca1 and I've known since I was 28. Once you know something, you can't not know. And it plagues me. I know it's a different situation, just saying, I get how stressful it all is. Just sending you Internet hugs and hoping for the best for everything.

  • @luckyduck42 @cortsull0724 @gfgrump just wanted to thank you all again for the well wishes and let you know we got good news today. Our chances got worse after finding out my husband's brother was a carrier but a week later we learned my husband isn't and are so incredibly grateful. Really appreciate you ladies!
