FTM / active baby question!

For those of you who’ve already had babies…. Was how active your baby was in your stomach any indication of what they were like once born?

For example if you had a super active baby, did you have a crazy baby once born?

Re: FTM / active baby question!

  • Yes and no. My daughter was super active in the belly and that translated to a pretty awake and curious newborn. She only slept well when she was sleeping on our chest (must felt the closest like the womb to her).
She's almost one now and she still fights to stay awake as much as possible and she's quite a bubbly baby.

  • In my experience, yes! My baby was a little gymnast in the womb and turned out to be super active after birth too. But some babies are chill inside and out. It can be a hint, but every baby is different!
  • With my first two I sure thought so: the first was super active and reactive to anything touching my belly (my moms dog curled up on my lap and I felt baby turn so he could kick the dog in the head), and he was quite sensitive to his surroundings as a baby. It also felt like we were fighting each other for space in my belly, which may have been because he was my first? The second was just a lot less dramatic in the movements I felt, normal regular movements and all it just wasn't like people across the room could see my belly moving all the time. He was a very happy and relaxed baby, fell asleep in the MIDDLE of a diaper change where first baby would have been crying.

But then I had two more, who felt like the second baby in the womb but were more similar to the first in temperament - turns out with those three I had an anterior placenta, so a little bit of a cushion. And at least one midwife says that placenta placement usually has more to do with it than personality.
  • This is my fifth pregnancy and I’ve never noticed a difference…. Idk if there is really in science behind that but I guess you could look into it haha.
