3 Hour Glucose test question

I had my one hour glucose test this past Friday and results were normal. Not even borderline, completely normal, but my OB still wanted me to do the 3 hour test. Is there any reason besides levels why this might be? Because like I said, my results were completely normal and I still had to come back and do the 3 hour one. TIA.

Must be to check the fasting glucose value. If you are at higher risk of GD, I would make sure to check it and the 1h test doesn't. Last pregnancy, I passed the 1h test, but my doctor suggested I do the 3h test anyway. In the end, I was diagnosed with GD because my fasting glucose was too high and we wouldn't have known if I didn't do that second test. Maybe it wouldn't have had that much of an impact, even though a recent study seems to indicate the opposite. But I'd rather be able to monitor the situation closely then not know.
