We have 13 weeks newborn. She is bottle fed. In her first 1 or so month, she was bottle fed Aptamil bottle (non-powder/liquid). The doctors diagnosed her having silent reflux and it was extremely hard for her to feed. Based on the doctor's advice, we switched to Aptamil Anti Reflux formula (which is thicker) then she got constipation so the doctor instructed us that we use lactlose and we did. Since then, and until today, we have been using anti reflux formula with lactlose per the dr's advice to fight the constipation. She doesn't have reflux any more.
To try and move her off the lactlose, we tried giving her back Aptamil liquid form, and after finishing her feed, every 30 to 60 minutes or so, she'd choke and we need to help her.
We could keep her on the anti reflux, and on the lactlose. But we aren't very comfortable with the idea of her being on the lactlose for too long. We read that there isn't long term effect using it. But it is still worrying us.
What could be the cause of this new behaviour? What's advisable for us now to do? Have anyone over here had this type of situation?
