Am I having a miscarriage?

Hi all, so I'm not sure if I'm having a misscariage and was hoping someone who's been through it may be able to advise.
So according to my doc I was 7w6d pregnant. I found dark brown discharge in my underwear so went to maternity A&E. They gave me a test and it was positive but a faint line. They took a blood test to check my HCG level but I was never given the result so I don't know what it was. The transvaginal ultrasound showed the sac and they said that it looked like I was actually 4/5 weeks pregnant and that it looked healthy. They told me not to come back unless I was bleeding bright red.
The next morning I got up and felt blood coming from down below. It was bright red this time. I went to A&E again. The doctor examined me and said that the blood was actually coming from my cervix and that I have something called cervical ectropian. Although she did say the amount I am bleeding is not normal for that. She then did another transvaginal ultrasound and it showed the same as the day before- a healthy pregnancy at 4/5 weeks but she couldn't say whether I would or wouldn't miscarry. She told me not to come back unless I'm soaking a sanitary pad every hour or I don't feel well.
They want me back in 2 weeks for another scan to see is there any progress with pregnancy. This just seems like an eternity to wait!!
This morning I had something on my pad which I think may have been tissue although maybe just a blood clot.
My main question is, is it possible to miscarry and not have cramping? Also, would it be obvious if its tissue and not a blood clot? Also, with regard to the amount I am bleeding, I'm not soaking a pad every hour but I am having to change it every 3 hours approx. It's exactly as if I'm having my period.
