Staying inside, lol! Even the pool feels like bath water it’s been so hot!

How are you feeling?: crappy - sleep has been awful and now my blood pressure is creeping in the wrong direction and stressing me out

Rants/Raves: wake me up when July is over

Questions: are urine samples at ob visits not a thing anymore? I swear I’m always prepared to give one and they never ask

GTKY: how are you handling the heat? Staying inside and my father in law also picked me up some nice pool floats to use in their pool since the kids are at their house swimming most days

@theneno1012 I have to give a urine sample at every visit!

Baby is the size of a (an): pineapple

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: Friday,  MFM growth scan.  We'll see if we keep the August 10th c- section date or move it up based on her size.

How are you feeling?: rough.  Lol. Tired,  cranky,  can't do anything but want to.

Rants/Raves: Rant: we've been without a dryer for 10 days and I'm tired of stiff towels 😆 Rave: My 2yo is being adorable and adjusting to so many changes lately (room change,  potty training,  paci being removed from daily life).

Questions: Any STM nervous about bonding with your second (compared to your first)? I know everyone says it will happen but I'm just nervous about the dynamic shifts.

GTKY: how are you handling the heat? Not. Cold drinks and ice cream.  Complaining.  Lol. Luckily we dropped from 100 to 85 degrees this week.
  • @theneno1012 I think I've only had one,  the first visit!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 32+5

Baby is the size of a (an): jicama
    Team blue/pink/green: green
    Upcoming Appointments: 1 week
How are you feeling?: Hot! But not in the sexy way. I'm sweating more than I ever have in my whole life.
Rants/Raves: We're doing a nesting party this time and I'm excited to have friends over and helping us with last bits of baby prep.
    Questions: none
GTKY: how are you handling the heat? I'm staying inside most of the time. I'd like to walk, but it's impossible when it's in the 90s even overnight.

@theneno1012 My OB does a urine every visit. They have the cup ready for us when we check in and they dip it for protein to make sure there's no early signs of preeclampsia. I thought that was standard of care so it's odd that some OBs aren't checking.

@lexilougolden DW and I are going to have 2 under 2 for a hot minute when this one is born. My parents say your love just gets bigger and bigger with every child, so I'm trusting the process. We're moms and moms are capable of amazing things.

@lexilougolden I am nervous about bringing my second home too. My first is only 2 and I feel like he is still just a baby hisself! Everyone says everything will fall into place, but I’m still worried. I don’t want my oldest to feel like he’s been replaced, he is a big mamas boy!
  • @theneno1012 they should be taking a sample EVERY visit to test for elevated protein since pre eclampsia is so serious.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 34 weeks 4 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an): Acorn squash I think.

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: weekly BPPs and weekly OB appts.

How are you feeling?: Tired and uncomfortable

Rants/Raves: My mom still thinks and hopes I’ll let her in the delivery room this time. She was there for my first two and I told her this time I just want hubby and I. She’s very upset. She takes SO much mental and physical energy and eggshell walking that I just can’t give that to her during labor. I need this labor, my LAST labor, to just be mine. I need to get through it. Gahhhh

Questions: Has anyone gone into an induction with a plan to be drug free and made it and felt it went well? My induction 12 years ago and it didn’t go well. Though I’d like everything to happen naturally like it did with my second, plans don’t always pan out and I’m trying to plan for the potential of induction.

GTKY: how are you handling the heat? Staying inside in the AC and carrying a handheld folding fan when I get hot. (After I eat I start to sweat for some reason. Some rooms just feel too hot. When the car AC isn’t cool enough)
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 34w2d

FTM/STM/TTM+: STM- first baby is 2 1/2 and seems excited to be a big brother

Baby is the size of a (an): butternut squash, or Tickle Me Elmo depending on what app you’re using

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: 7/19 36 week checkup, then were weekly from there! It’s getting close and we are so ready to meet her!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good overall but my pelvis is definitely starting to feel uncomfortable!

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: We had our first baby in a hospital (induced) but this time we have a birth doula and are delivering in a birthing center run by midwives, planning to go into labor naturally so this is a “first” for me in recognizing when it’s “go time”. Anyone else go through this switch? Any pointers besides timing contractions?

GTKY: how are you handling the heat?
LOTS of ice water, and lots of rest. My $20 Reduce brand tumbler from Target has been a BFF. Half the price of a Stanley and just as sturdy.

Baby is the size of a (an): yellow squash
    Team blue/pink/green: green
Upcoming Appointments: nothing until next week
How are you feeling?: So very round and sweaty.  My feet are swelling more, but I have compression socks on the way (I had a pair, but the foot area wasn't tight enough)
Rants/Raves: I'm not loving how emotional and overwhelmed I've been feeling lately.  My SO is being so patient with me and offers to help out however he can.
Questions: Anyone else suddenly become an ice connisoure? I used to not care about ice, but now I'm talking about what places have the good ice.
GTKY: how are you handling the heat? When at home I've been staying inside as much as I can.  I've also been loving ice water so much.  Our cabin doesn't have AC, so I have ice water with me at all times and an old Gatorade bottle that I freeze solid to hug if I get too overheated.
  • @MinnieMay9 ice is my life.  We bought an ice maker a few months ago and I'm obsessed.
  • I keep hearing about the nugget ice craze having not gone away but I also keep seeing ice makers that cost hundreds.  Are good ones actually this much!?!?
  • I usually get my "good ice" fix from Wegmans.  In their seated area near the cafe/hot food bar they have ice and water machines.  I've not checked their bagged ice area, but I wonder if they have any pebble ice by the bag.  I also know that Sonic sells bagged pebble ice if you have one near you.
  • @lolothenailtech I didn't get an expensive nugget ice one.  I got one on sale at Costco.  We don't have a fridge with an automatic ice maker so it's been great to have ice that is made almost instantly.
