Re: Diaper funds

  • I'm invested in cloth diapering, but I love this idea!
  • Loading the player...
  • I’ve been doing more research on it … seems very cost effective over times
  • I used cloth diapers for my first two exclusively until potty training. My third has such sensitive skin I couldn't continue to cloth diaper she would break out in a rash if she wore anything aside from Huggies which made me extra sad because my cloth diapers are so much cuter and less expensive. I'm hoping this baby has an easier time and I will be able to use cloth again.
  • The hardest for me so far was convincing my husband to be on board with it, but I haven't even started yet! I just can't imagine paying so much for disposables
  • The arrangement I had with my husband was I take care of the diapers if I want to use cloth. He was very set against it when we had our first. When we ran out of newborn diapers I sent him to the local Walgreens to get diapers. When he came back with the bag of Pampers that was $12 I told him that was great but it was only going to last us 2.5 days with how many diapers newborns go through. He was happy for me to use cloth then. . .but we couldn't use cloth when we were not home according to him. ..that changed when she was probably around 6 weeks old and had a huge blow out that went up her back, through her car seat. On the car seat base and then the fabric of his vehicle. I reminded him that we don't have blow outs in cloth diapers...I was able to use cloth all the time after that lol.
  • I swear, sometimes they just need to accept we know what's gonna be best! I also agreed to be the sole launderer of the diaps. He's also extremely limited in his baby knowledge. He hasn't consistently been around an infant ever and he's 38.
  • My husband was 43 when we had our first. He was clueless 😂...I was the sole washer until he decided to wash diapers while i was in the hospital for 3 days post C-section with my second. I swear it took me 3 months to get the stink out of the diapers. I told him next time don't wash them, 5 day old poop diapers would smell better. He thought more soap = cleaner diapers when that is so far from the truth.
