Asthma attack? Did I hurt my baby?

Hello everyone,

I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and I went to my sisters backyard party because she just gave birth and it was like a family thing. While there the grill fumes and the dogs running (I’m allergic) around triggered my asthma and it was getting hard for me to breathe. I eventually left early because it became triggering and when I got home it got worse. I used my pump 5 times within 6 hours and when I saw it wasn’t getting better I went to the hospital where they gave me a nebulizer and prescribed me symbicort and I felt much better. However at the hospital my pulse ox sat was 92% and my HR was 111 bpm. I have an at home Doppler and measured his heart rate which was 166 bpm. It was higher than normal (130-145 bpm). I am wondering if I could have caused any harm within breathing grill fumes or going 6 hours with trouble breathing?

You were at the hospital, they treated you - they knew you are pregnant, and they needed to get your asthma under control.  If there was any concern of the baby they would have told you.  Just breath, everything will be fine.

By the way at home dopplers are more of a fright than a help, stop using it. You don't know what type of sound waves you are sending to your baby, I would be more concerned about that.
