Hi everyone, I’m 6w2d and yesterday (6/6/24) I started cramping and bleeding at work. Went to the ER and my HCG levels were only at 900 and they couldn’t find anything on the ultrasound. The ER said my cervix was not dilated and that the blood looked “old” and dark. They are sending me for another blood draw tomorrow (6/8/24) and I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday (6/12/24). 

The doctor said the likelihood of ectopic was low based on the ultrasound and if anything was happening it was a “threatened miscarriage”. 

My cramping and bleeding has gotten worse today. Like a light period amount of blood and heavy period cramps. I had to take Tylenol they were so intense. I’m so sad and scared. I feel like I’m in the early stages of miscarrying and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m trying to stay hopeful but I also want to be aware of how my body feels 💗 

I’m not sure why I’m wiring this honestly, probably just to get it off my chest. Thanks for any words of advice or sharing your story.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this—it’s scary and sad and frustrating to not know what’s going on with your body. When you say they “couldn’t find anything on the ultrasound” does that mean they didn’t see anything wrong? Or that they didn’t see a blast, gestational sac, fetal pole, etc.?

I have an SCH that has caused bleeding off and on for about a week now, but I think those are typically pretty easily identified by ultrasound. I’m glad they’re taking it seriously and I hope the follow-up appointments offer clarity and even reassurance. Unfortunately all we can do is take it day by day and try to stay positive.
