Introduce yourself: I live in PA and this baby #1

Due date: 2/3/2025 according to app.

How you found out: lab test. We have been trying through IUI and apparently the third time is the charm!

Tell us about yourself: my husband I will have been married for 5 years in September. We have 3 cats (woo! No litter boxes for me!). I am a case manager as my necessary job but an artist/sewist as my preferred job. 😄 I also love gardening.

How are you feeling: tired!! I have a sleep disorder and had to go off my meds with the positive test. Fortunately I’m used to being tired and it hasn’t been as bad as I’ve been fearing. My breasts are already a bit bigger and pretty sore. I’m already having to cut back on the spicy foods I so desperately love but I’m working on finding a happy balance.

Introduce yourself: Hello I am Olivia (or Liv). I am 30 and this will be baby #2 for me.

Due date: Feb 10th/11th according to different apps and calculators. Currently 4W+3D. Will have first ultrasound July 1st at almost 8W.

How you found out: Had my non hormonal IUD removed early April. Started trying in May. Tested positive at 10 DPO.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My first born will be 10 years old in October, so it’s been a while since I was pregnant last. My partner and I have been together for over 5 years and we got engaged in January. We are waiting a few more years to get married due to the benefits of being unwed right now 😅 I live in and work for the state of California. I like to roller skate (on pause now), garden, and exercise.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? So far my biggest symptoms have been total exhaustion, tender nips, bloating, and frequent urination. Hoping to stave off the morning sickness, I so clearly remember having with my first from 6-16 weeks, for as long as possible.
  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I am Kassandra, 30 years old and live in SoCal.

    Due date: February 11th

How you found out: I flew out to OH last week to support my sister the day she had her 1st baby. I was due for my period while I was there and had some cramping. When I cramp that means the flow will start in a couple hours. It didn’t. My period is super regular. I was still a day early but decided to test. I had some kind of feeling. I had also been peeing a lot which I thought may have been nerves and excitement about being there because I wasn’t hydrating more than usual. So the test was positive and it was magical learning that with my sister.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have two dogs- a belgian malinois and a terrier mix. My husband and I have two boys 9yo and 1yo. Although this is my 5th pregnancy, had a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy both before our 2nd son was born. #3 came sooner than planned but we are so excited. I’m just a but nervous having two littles at the same time. We like to travel and camp and cook 😊

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)?
I feel like I can’t think about anything else 😂😅 I’ve been so into birth since the first, I can’t get enough reading and learning. Bittersweet though because we said we only wanted 3 kids. I wasn’t ready so soon to have the last. I don’t think I will ever feel “done”. Physical symptoms are peeing often, bloating, some fatigue, cramping (which makes me so nervous) and maybe a smudge of morning sickness.

How you found out: I didn’t expect to get pregnant this cycle but have been tracking and testing carefully due to meds I’m on. Negative at 9 dpo, a squinter at 10, easier to see day 11, today is 12 and Wondfos are still faint, but I also got a digital so I told my husband today.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We have a 7 year old daughter. I’m a nurse, spouse is a teacher and our 10 year anniversary is this month. We have 4 dogs that I like to compete in various sports with, right now mainly nosework but have also done conformation, herding, obedience, rally, barn hunt and agility. I am a hobby collector and more recently have been gardening and doing embroidery.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? Bloated. Very tired, though I’m not sure how much of that is pregnancy vs shock of being pregnant. I’m nervous as I’ve miscarried before.

  • @santoskassy21 due date twin! Age twin! And almost location twin, NorCal here! My oldest daughter is also 9 and is the last time I was pregnant 😅 trying to remember all the fun pregnancy stuff I get to look forward to. Best of luck with your pregnancy ✨
  • I'm so glad there are a bunch of us here with a big gap between kids! DD1 will be 8 when this baby arrives safely, and I thought I was crazy! I'm glad I'm not alone.

    Introduce yourself: Jes

    Due date: 2.12

How you found out: poas to see if I needed to pack tampons for this beach vaca we're on this week.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This is baby #5, and the last one(s?). The other 4 will be 7.5+, almost 6, 4+, and 2+ in Feb when I deliver - likely rcs on 2.5. Full time sahm, oldest and youngest are girls, middle 2 are boys. Just celebrated my first year of sobriety. Love to play boardgames, though not kid games, so I'm excited for when they get older and can handle more strategy stuff. I'll be 42 in Aug, hubs will be 50(!) the week after.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? Minimal physical symptoms, but it's early yet. Emotionally: I was psyched to do a fun surprise announcement this week here on the beach even though it's super early, but then we had some behavior issues with my wild 3rd child, currently 3.5, totally developmentally appropriate, but now I don't want to tell anyone because I'm worried they'll judge that I can't even keep the 4 I have under control. Also, travel has put a damper on hubs and I's intimacy time, and I'm grumpy about that.

Thank you! Same to you! My older two are 8years apart. They absolutely love each other. There’s some pretty cool gear and things around now comparing to 9years ago.

I would’ve liked mine to be a little closer, but I think a close age gap is so overrated. Having a newborn and toddler at the same time sounds awful lol. And I have a sister that’s 10 years older than me and we get along great, while I feel like those that are only a couple years apart spend their whole childhoods fighting.

  • A newborn and toddler does sound pretty rough. The thought of having a kid in high school and a kid in kindergarten scared me! I'm glad it is more common that I thought!
  • Introduce yourself: 31 and based in CA. This is baby #1. Had a chemical in December so holding my breath a bit but very excited.

    Due date: 2.12.25

How you found out: Took an HPT at 12dpo and was positive. Saw hcg blood tests double from 13 to 15 dpo.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I work full time from home. We've got 2 dogs, 3 cats, 400 chickens 😂. Met my husband in 2018, married last July.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? Feeling cautiously optimistic, bloated and experiencing brief mild waves of nausea. My in laws are staying with us for the next few days and I'd prefer to wait until we are further along to share but hubs would love to tell them sooner so they can join in on the fun.

How you found out: We did IVF, so through positive blood work last week. So grateful to be here!

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
Plus one to the age gap crew! 😊 I have 9 year old twin girls. Currently multitasking with cooking dinner, I’ll post more in a bit!

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? I’m still on IVF meds, so it’s hard to know what’s med side effects vs. symptoms. Definitely tired, nauseous, and having food aversions. Only wanting carbs & salty stuff!

Congrats on your successful IVF. I really thought the 9/10 year age gap was not very common but glad to see many others in the group like myself 😊

    Introduce yourself: Hi I’m Heather!

    Due date: 2/14/25

How you found out: I was three days late getting my period and took a test. And then seven more before i really believed it!

Tell us about yourself: I’m 38 and this is my first. I was so worried that this was never going to happen for me. But it’s happening! My husband, Humberto, is over the moon excited, but still can’t quite believe it either. He had testicular cancer in his 20s and really didn’t think this was a possibility. We’re feeling so blessed by our little miracle baby! (Oh and i live in San Francisco! Excited to see others in the area). :)

How are you feeling: I don’t know how I’m going to get any work done today. Or for the next nine months. All i can think about is baby!

Baby shmoop - not too far from you! I'm in between Santa Cruz and Monterey. And also still figuring out how to reply to a comment without making it a post. Sorry y'all!
  • Introduce yourself: my name is Deirdre and this is my first pregnancy at 31.

    Due date: EDD of 2/17

How you found out: just found out Monday via blood test. We did a round of medicated IUI after unexplained infertility on Memorial Day.

Tell us about yourself: I have two dogs, a one year old lab mix, Frank Thomas, and a 12 year old cattle dog, Hondo, who we rescued at 10. I just graduated law school and will be taking the bar exam at the end of July (fingers crossed I feel okay!)

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? Emotions have been everywhere with some deaths in my family recently so it’s very bitter sweet. Some nausea and fatigue and major cramping
  • Introduce yourself: Hi I’m over here in Orlando drenching in sweat, hopefully the AC works very well lol

Due date: Haven’t seen a doctor yet, but the app says Feb 2nd.

How you found out: My nipples became perfectly round and plump, and they’ve been the complete opposite all my life.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I have been casually trying for 2 years, casually as in we haven’t been avoiding it but if it happens it happens and it did finally. This is our first little peanut

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? …….:..Honestly? I’m nauseous and sick every day lol nothing sounds good to eat, get winded doing anything I get instantly fatigued and dizzy and have to sit down. Now I’m getting a tiny pain but I’m hoping it’s gas lol
  • Introduce yourself: Hi!  I’m Cortney!  My family and I live in Nc currently but are in the process of moving to SC…the timeline of which now has a tighter date.  I’ve been married three years and we have a son that is 14 months old.  This will be our second baby!

Due date: 2/7 per the app, I go for my first ultrasound on 6/24 so we will get confirmation then.

How you found out: we have been not trying but trying since our son turned one.  I took a test the day I missed my period and then a few more since then.  Beyond excited but trying to not be until we see the first ultrasound.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am married, with one son.  I became a SAHM after we had him and I love every minute of it!  We have two dogs as well so life can be a bit crazy but so fun!

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)?  Off and on nauseous but nothing awful.  Crazy insomnia though which is awful as I am so fatigued but just lay there with my mind racing.
  • Baby shmoop - not too far from you! I'm in between Santa Cruz and Monterey. And also still figuring out how to reply to a comment without making it a post. Sorry y'all!
I’ve found that hitting quote instead of reply does the trick. For some reason reply doesn’t actually reply to the persons comment.

Tell us about yourself: I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years. We have 2 dogs, a cat, and a few fish.

How are you feeling: No crazy symptoms as of yet. I've had a few days of nausea and some cramping but that's about it. I'm excited but also still in disbelief. Trying to not get to excited until the first ultrasound.
  • Introduce yourself: I'm 27 and from ND. This is my 1st.

Due date: February 23 per the app

How you found out: I've been extremely tired, moody, and sore (pelvic) so I took a home test really early and dr confirmed!

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? Nausea started right off the bat and pelvic soreness is real!
  • Introduce yourself: Hello I’m located in Alabama and I am 35 and baby number 4 for us.

    Due date: 2/5/25

How you found out: we found out on Memorial Day I had a feeling I was pregnant but was treating myself for a uti because I was peeing so much it could only be those two things.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I been married 9 years and together for 12. We have an 11, 6 and almost 4 year old all boys. I also have a history of ectopics (2) and lost a tube and had 4 miscarriages. I work as a Quality Advisor.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? I am tired, sore breast, cramps, frequent urination and heartburn galore.
  • Introduce yourself: Hi all! I’m Sarah. I’m Irish, but moved to New York City 6 years ago. This is my first pregnancy and definitely filled with lots of emotions (mainly excitement with some nerves thrown in for good measure !!!)!

Due date: Feb 9,2025. We have our dating and viability ultrasound at the end of June, so may get an updated due date then.

How you found out: we’ve been trying for a few months. I took a pregnancy test as early as possible (5 days before my period was due) and it was negative, so I was really disappointed. I then missed my period and tried again … super faint second line !!! I told my husband that morning but we didn’t want to get our hopes up too much so we kept things chill. I then tested every day that first week of June (yes, I’m type A lol) and the line got stronger and stronger !!!!

Tell us about yourself: First EVER pregnancy so I really don’t know what to expect ! I’m also the first of any of my friends to be pregnant. I got married at 27 and the rest of my friends are only really starting to settle down now, so I’ve been leading the pack for a while on that front! My husband has a 2 year old niece down in Texas and we’re very close with her parents, so they’re going to be my main guiding point ! I’m a mental health counselor based in a Special Ed school, so I’m currently on summer vacation (thank goodness!!!). Myself and my husband are together 7 years and married for 4. We love to travel (we actually met in Nicaragua!) and have trips to Texas, Austria, Hungary and Ireland planned this summer. Hoping first trimester symptoms don’t impact that TOO much ! We’ve just moved to a bigger apartment also, so there’s lots of change happening right now. I like to relax by reading and cooking, but right now I’m focused on unpacking the million (or so it seems!) boxes we’re living amongst!!!

How are you feeling: the main symptom for me is breast pain. I’m a 32 DD anyway, so have always needed support, but now I find I’m sleeping with a bra on to cope with the pain !!! Thankfully no morning sickness… yet! I find I’m very thirsty and of course, going to the bathroom a LOT. Emotionally I’m in a good place. Definitely a little more sensitive (I got weepy while watching a tv show that featured a father-daughter reunion today!), but I’m surprised at how calm and grounded I feel! I think overall it’s still a bit surreal and I’m counting down the days until our first in person appointment and ultrasound !!! I feel hearing the heartbeat is going to have me in floods of tears. I’ve had a virtual intake with Oula (the midwife focused practice connected to Mount Sinai in New York), but looking forward to the first in person office visit !

My bday is Saturday (what a gift this is) and Im nervous about shirking the why aren't you drinking question- send ideas please! I got laid off in December (it's been a YEAR alreasy including ACL surgery and the death of my estranged dad), and the job market is horrible, but I have faith something will come along. Hello! I use two different apps and the other one has my EDD in March but the Bump has it in February :) with that being said, I'm Chloe and I live in CA.

Due date: according to the Bump, 2/27/25 :)

How you found out: I was trying to get pregnant so I was totally symptom spotting, but I made coffee at work and started to feel nauseated. I got home and took a test at 9DPO and it was positive!

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) no other children, this is my first! I work as an Administrative Assistant and have three cats and a dog, all of whom we got by accident lol I am having this baby with my husband naturally after not making it past a couple baseline ultrasounds for IUi. We've been together since 2014, married since 2020. I'm also an artist and generally like to make things (right now, I'm a member of a pottery studio).

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? I am feeling a smidge nauseated, nothing bad yet (fingers crossed). I'm feeling constantly thirsty and like I'm on the verge of tears always lol also having some weird insomnia but also always tired? Anyone else? Lol

    Due date: 2/14

    How you found out:
I have tracked my cycle for years after getting off hormonal birth control. My period didn't come...I waited a good week, but when my boobs felt sore, I just knew. Test was positive.

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
Have been married almost 15 years and have 2 kids (11 & 9) who I homeschool. Add me to the big age gap group.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)?
Feeling anxious- this was the shock of a lifetime. Plus anxiety is definitely how my body reacts to changes in hormones, unfortunately. Am currently nauseous 24/7 and praying it subsides soon. Still trying to come to grips with the fact that we are having another baby. We have been out of that stage for so long and didn't keep even 1 baby item🤪
  • Introduce yourself: Hi I'm Sarah!

Due date: 2/5, but at my US Friday they estimated 2/2

How you found out: I waited until my period was 2 days late

Tell us about yourself: I live with my husband, our daughter (she'll be 3 in July), and 2 cats in AZ. I'm an IT analyst and work from home (thankfully!). I love to hike, but since I live in AZ, my main past time is currently bobbing in the pool. I also read a lot and am learning to crochet.

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)?: Emotionally, excited! Physically, not great. The nausea and food aversions are so much worse this go round and I'm always tired
  • Hi I’m Heather, I’m 39 and this is my 9th pregnancy (I have 1 LC). This baby has been very much anticipated and went through 6 back to back losses in the past year (I had 2 previously before my son was born in 2022). My husband and I agreed that we would try IVF if we didn’t become successfully pregnant in May.  We had the first appointment scheduled and everything! But sure enough, we got pregnant (which my body is very good at doing btw). I’ve been treading very lightly over the past few weeks, and I’m happy to say I have made it well past the time I typically miscarry (which is usually between 5-6 weeks and I’m sitting at 8w3d today). I’ve had 2 early ultrasounds already and the little bean has a strong heartbeat and is growing beautifully. I feel like it’s safe for me to feel excited now and join this group.

    Due date: February 2

How you found out: Tested positive at 3w4d. Not a huge surprise since I’ve seen sooooo many positive pregnancy tests in my attempts

Tell us about yourself: I’m an artist, foodie, nature lover (although a real homebody lately), and mama to a spirited 2 year old son. Husband works as a programmer for a gaming company. We enjoy going out on weekends, especially to the zoo with our toddler. In the evening we typically find ourselves in front of the tv, too exhausted for much else.

How are you feeling: I’ve been nauseous since week 6, very tired, and sore boobs. I haven’t gained much weight (only 2 pounds but it’s within my typical fluctuation), but my clothes are already feeling snug, so I’m definitely bloated. Despite the nausea, I can’t seem to stop myself from snacking, it’s like I have a bottomless appetite! My energy seems to be coming back though so I’m hoping to get more exercise in soon.
  • Wow I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed and prayers coming your way! You've been through a lot and I hope this pregnancy goes exactly how you need it to go! You got this Momma!
  • Introduce yourself: Hi, my name is Cate! I've been with my partner Aaron for 11 years and dealing with infertility for 10. I've had two early losses, most recently in 2022. This is my first time truly feeling pregnant.

Due date: Estimated February 11, 2025

How you found out: I received a formal PCOS diagnosis in 2022. This was our third round of medications to help me ovulate, so I had been tracking my cycles and testing consistently. I had faulty tests that were not showing true positives until I was 6 weeks along, so I wound up calling my OB and asking to do an early blood test which confirmed the pregnancy. :)

Tell us about yourself: (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I work in non-profit community mental health care as an office administrator for an outpatient clinic. My partner is currently looking for work after suffering some serious burnout and taking a mental health break. We love to read, play board games, hang out with our family and friends, and go swimming. Our favorite place is Rockaway beach, and one of our favorite things to do is have our godson and his parents over for the weekend to do family hang time. We live outside of Portland, OR. We currently have two girl kitties named Tana and Sunday, and are picking up a boy kitten (naming him Corduroy!) on 7/4. Our first ultrasound is 7/2, so next week feels like an extra big deal!

How are you feeling: (Physical symptoms, emotionally)? I am SOOO anxious and equally exhausted. I nap every day now! My grandma died unexpectedly on May 4 and I conceived on May 21. It's been a really emotional time and I hate keeping Sprout a secret right now. I just want to talk to my mom about it all. We're waiting until we can confirm the heartbeat next week before we tell folks and I'm chomping at the bit.
  • Introduce yourself: I’m Jess. I’m 25 years old and having my first baby. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and I’m super excited to experience this for myself.

    Due date: 2/23/25

How you found out: I test monthly and was SURPRISED to see two lines hahah.

Tell us about yourself: I have been married for 7 months and was planning on waiting a little longer before having a kid. However, my husband and I are so excited to be adding to our family. We have two kitties named Peach and Boris and have a corgi named Duke. I used to be a big runner, and was actually about to sign up for a marathon this fall right before finding out I’m expecting!

How are you feeling: I’m feeling irritable the most. Exhausted the rest of the time. I’ve only puked once thank goodness, but nausea and bloating have been intense. Emotionally I’m definitely coming around more. I’m super excited but still very anxious about everything being okay, I think I’ll feel less anxious once I see babe at my ultrasound in two weeks!
Love to see we have a L&D nurse in our group. You will be a great addition to answering any of our pregnancy questions. Congrats on your pregnancy 😊
