20 week scan. No LVOT seen

Hi,

We had our 20 week scan today and everything seemed fine. The pregnancy has been fine so far and the measurements of everything today were as they should be. At the end of the scan the sonographer said she wasn’t happy that she couldn’t see all areas of the heart specifically the LVOT. We have been told to await a call from our main hospitals fetal cardiology department.

We are beyond worried with what this could mean. Anyone else got any experience of this?

With my first, we had to go for a more detailed ultrasound a few weeks later because my son was creating shadows on his heart. It turned out to just be the way he kept moving his arms during the ultrasound.
