  • How many weeks are you?  15w4d
Appointments: I see my GP for the last time next week and finally get to meet my OB on Jun 21. I was really hoping to get on with a midwife so I delayed that as much as I could.
Symptoms: I basically slept this whole last weekend. I'm still vomiting, and my taste buds are really out of whack. Not to mention the constipation.  :#
Gratitude: I'm starting to acknowledge that I'm actually pregnant. I have a bump and I'm hoping I get to start feeling flutters and movement in the next couple weeks. We've waited so long and it felt more like a dream or something before. I don't know how to explain it. I'm just really grateful I'm getting my baby!
Gripes: My messy house lol I have no energy to keep it clean!
How are you feeling? Ready to start the nursery! lol I'm very impatient.
Goals: I've never been this hydrated in my life and I'm trying to stay on that train!

How many weeks are you? 15+4

Appointments: had a regular midwife appt last Thursday and got to hear the heartbeat! AS scheduled for July 5th (how are we already here??)

Symptoms: nausea, awful taste in mouth always, acne, no energy.

Gratitude: I’m so grateful for my husband who gets up with the baby at night on weekday nights (since I wake up ungodly early for work), and gets up with the kids on weekends so I can sleep in. I know he’s tired but… I’m more tired!

Gripes: related to the last one: my daughter just won’t sleep. She’s been working on molars forever. And my son who has been a 8am riser since forever now wakes up at 6:30 every day for some reason. Whyyyy.

How are you feeling? Blah. Tired and nauseous. Sick of no food tasting right, sick of not liking coffee. But, I’ve started to feel some very faint flutters, it’ll all be worth it!

Goals: still haven’t done a single cleaning item on my list. Actually I did deep clean the bathtub yesterday so that’s one thing. Feels like a drop in the ocean though, so I’ll still keep the lofty goal of getting on top of household chores even though it feels 100% Sisyphean.

  • Hi!! First time mom here, I am 18 weeks tomorrow!

    Appointments:
I moved states and wasn’t able to be scheduled at my new doctor until June 5, so I haven’t been seen since my 12 week appointment. Feeling super anxious about how long it’s been. I also can’t tell if I feel him moving or if it’s just gas.

Symptoms: Luckily most of my symptoms have cleared, but the fatigue has been constant. Also I think I’m experiencing round ligament pain but I’m not entirely sure if that’s what it is.

    Gratitude:
I am grateful to be feeling more like myself, definitely not 100% still.

    gripe:
I know I mentioned this in appointments, but I really am so worried since I haven’t been able to check on baby in 6 weeks. I also haven’t had an ultrasound since 8 weeks, so that’s not helping either.

    Goals:
Keep doing well in nursing school!
  • Hey 👋 👋

    Im currently  18w2days
Appointment: im having my Appointment on the 20th of june ill be 20 weeks by then im super and and excited

Symptoms: im always hungry. I just want to eat other than that ive been feeling like my normal self☺️

Gratitude: im grateful ive come this far i can't wait to see what the future holds.

Gripes: i won't lie im always anxious. The more i feel normal the more i feel like i lost the baby. And im not sure if im taking the right prenatals. Im using pregomega but they are expensive. Which ones can i try?
  • I've just been doing the Jamieson chewable prenatals because I couldn't swallow the big ones in the first trimester. They're more like tums than the gummies, which would also make me gag.
I honestly don't know the difference between brands. I just buy what's at my pharmacy.

Confession: I’m really bad at taking prenatals. Have been all three pregnancies, can’t remember the last time I took one. Probably not great considering I can barely eat with all this nausea and aversions, but my kids aren’t deficient in anything and neither am I so I wouldn’t get too hung up on prenatals. Especially not which brand, as long as it contains all the stuff you need I’m sure it’s fine.

Appointments: Next one is June 18th. Prob just going to listen to baby’s HR but maybe they’ll do an ultrasound since I’m old.
Symptoms: Exhaustion, hunger, thirst, and some uterine area soreness/pain probably RLP, growing uterus-type stuff.
Gratitude: My genetic carrier screening came back all no/low risk.
Gripes: Baby’s cfDNA results are taking for-effing-ever to come back! It’s been 3 weeks and I still don’t know baby’s sex or if they have any trisonomies or other issues. The waiting SUCKS.
How are you feeling? Pretty good actually. Some exhaustion, nausea is pretty much gone. I’ve got a bump going on but since I’m not a small lady and I’ve got bigger boobs, I mostly look bloated and wide unless I have really specific types of clothing on.
Goals: Not overdo it at Disney next week and keep up my 5 day/week workouts when I get home from vacay.

  • How many weeks are you? 16w5d

Appointments: I had one on Friday and all seemed well. Our AS is July 2! That’s when we will find out gender too since we opted out of a lot of genetic testing.

Symptoms: RL pain (yoga helps soooo much) and heartburn. Thankfully small frequent meals help with that.

Gratitude: All in all, I’m feeling pretty good! My symptoms are much more manageable than they were in the first trimester. Also, my love of cooking has come back and I don’t hate the smell of food anymore. Being able to meal plan again is very nice.

Gripes: We still can’t settle on any girl name options. And I’m generally impatient and wanting it to be July already so we can see baby again and know gender.

How are you feeling? See gratitude.

Goals: Keeping up healthy diet choices and exercising. Also being able to stay focused and productive with work instead of being all consumed with baby.
  • How many weeks are you? 17wk 3days

Appointments:  Next week is our AS.  I am having twins and this is the longest (4wks) that I have gone without seeing baby A and baby B.  As a FTM, just overly anxious about things so I am very ready for our appt.  I am hopeful they cooperate and we can see if the genetic tests were right for gender (data is very limited for showing correct twin genders allegedly).

Symptoms:  I am growing SO big so fast (again twins) in belly and boobs.  Stretch marks are happening and back aches are no joke; and it is only 17 weeks.

Gratitude:  Food aversions are gone; and I can handle mint smells again!  I was using a kid flavor toothpaste and my teeth just NEVER felt clean :)  I also am officially done with being a classroom sped teacher and as of yesterday!! I turned in my keys and room is DONE!  I was teacher for 14 years so I had a LOT of stuff and my Mom helped me pack almost everyday until my back called it on me every day this week.  I am very excited for my new job (still with special education- just outside of classroom).  I told my new boss and group of only 7 people who do my job throughout the entire metro-city country (think 30 school districts) about the twins.  I already had a working relationship with new boss, and he was so chill about things.  The new co-workers will have to cover my workload while I am out and they were all very positive and all suggested taking as much time as I could (our school district just this year gives 40 days of paid leave WHOOHOO, but we can add if we have PTO up to 12wks).  This is very unlike my old school environment where if I took a day off; I would get texts in afternoon- will you be back tomorrow??

Gripes:  My old classroom was moving rooms.  It was apparently MY sole responsibility to pack up the entire classroom to go to new room.  (If I was staying I would not have been moved, is my biggest gripe).  I had a walk in closet, many cabinets, and built-ins that I could leave my stuff in usually over summer.  Not this year… Whelp classroom is full of boxes everywhere and so is my living room and kitchen.  I have all my school stuff that I didn’t want to leave for the classroom.  (My room had 2 boxes of curriculum given to me when I started, so everything in there was purchased by me).  Now it is very overwhelming trying to sort thru and reorganize….  Fella just told his mom about the twins; they aren’t close and he made it into a late Mother’s Day thing.  Most of his family lives a few hours away have a big weekend of a bridal shower (for a cousin) and grad party (another cousin) coming up next weekend.  Dude hasn’t told those aunts, uncles, or cousins and I really don’t want to go and steal folk’s thunder… There is NO way to hide the bump unless he holds a box around me.  He wants to tell them all in person and wanted his Mom to know first.  Okay, tell em, “We are preg,” over the phone and then do the twin drop in person… I don’t know if I am the asshole here- but realllllly feel uncomfortable going to his 38 year old cousin’s bridal shower super preg without them all knowing, and he thinks I am overreacting.

How are you feeling?  Backaches (see all my ranting about packing)… I am now on summer break and am back to taking a daily afternoon nap (typically 30 minutes) and that will reset my achey back.

Goals:  Get these boxes reorganized and put away on our newly bought yesterday shelf.  By end of June, I would like to have looked at new (to me) cars.  (Civics don’t fit two pumpkin seats without my 5.10 self on top of the steering wheel).  Keep walking the dog at least once daily.

  • How many weeks are you? 16w+5    I wrote most of this a week ago and apparently forgot to post it.

Appointments: I had my first midwife appointment on Monday with the midwife that I'll have for most of my appointments with. It was at home as well, they always do one at that's partly a welfare check. So it was pretty basic but there was a problem. I'm booked into the team from the area where I live but I'm booked into the hospital in the neighboring area. Well where I live they check for a heartbeat at 16w and the midwife tried twice but couldn't find the heartbeat. I wasn't too stressed because I felt the baby move both before and after. But I ended up with an early morning appointment yesterday at the hospital to check the baby. Baby is fine and I got a very quick look at them on the scan and another picture. The hospital midwifes were not happy with my midwife because it's their policy not to use the doppler to check for a heartbeat until the 24w midwife appointment, the reasoning is because they often can't find the heartbeat at 16w and the mother ends up having to go in for an emergency scan.

Symptoms: Not too bad, the nausea is mostly gone apart from I've been randomly been getting travel sick. Other than that fatigue, aches and pains, thirst and needing to pee all the time.

Gratitude: I can feel baby move now! Which defiantly came in handy this week. If I lie down to feel baby I can feel them pretty well now but I've also started to be able to feel them during the day if I'm sat in certain positions. I felt my other two pretty early as well.

Gripes: I've started getting random aches and pains already. Mainly I pulled my left glute 3 weeks ago and I keep re pulling it, and that's put pressure on my back and left hip that I've had issues with since my first pregnancy. But I got my pregnancy pillow out last week and everything was way better this morning and I was much more comfortable sleeping.

How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good, definitely into the easier second trimester.

Goals: Sort out our new car. We can't get three car seats in our Golf so we need something bigger. We're currently looking at a Citroen C5.
