IVF Meds

Hello I am new here and I was told this was a good place to ask for help. My husband and I are starting IVF and I must say it is quite expensive. We were just given the price list for my prescriptions that BCBS does not cover and it is 5k. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get this cost lower? Looks like Menopur and Ganirelix are the most expensive from the list. Thanks in advance for the help.

The meds are expensive! I think mine ended up being around $12,000 all together (insurance did cover some). Look into the medication companies, they usually have discount programs if you income qualify and don't have insurance. Talk to your fertility center, they usually have a list of options from grants to loans (though the loan terms may not be great). And some people get cheaper meds from online international pharmacies, though that would likely delay treatment while you wait for shipping.

I've also heard of people ordering their IVF meds internationally for lower cost!!
