I'm having trouble getting advice on this even from medical professionals, so I thought I'd post on here.
I got my first ultrasound at about 11 weeks. In the days leading up to the ultrasound, it became increasingly clear I was going to miscarry. At the US they saw a 6 week fetus. A day later, I passed it - extremely painful, took about 2 hours. The major stuff was over but the bleeding continued into the next day and slowly began to subside. I got a follow up ultrasound about 10 days after this, and they found some debris remaining in my uterus. At this point, since I was still spotting and have largely passed it, I'd prefer not to have medical intervention.
The doctor at the US said it wasn't her area of experrise but said I would probably need to take a pill or get a D&C because of risks of sepsis etc, but to ask my doctor oe midwife. My midwife also seemed a bit uncomfortable interpreting the ultrasound images but since I was feeling fine and said I didn't want intervention unless it was urgent, recommended a follow up ultrasound and she is referring me to an OB to interpret what they saw. I have a follow up ultrasound scheduled for next week, 2.5 weeks since my first US/the actual miscarriage and 1 week since the second one where they saw the debris.
I guess I'm trying to figure out if I'm in any danger or if I can keep waiting this out. A lot of time has passed since baby died - about 13 weeks- but less than 2 weeks since the miscarriage happened. REALLY hard to find information about this since most people seem to get intervention. Any advice or thoughts are much appreciated!
