How are you feeling?: defeated. 

Rants/Raves: rant- no matter what I do I can’t keep my sugar where they want it. I had a spike this morning after scrambled eggs and avocado on wheat toast. 😭 I’m just feeling discouraged. 

Questions: anyone else probably having a July baby? I peep over there occasionally but I like our board more 🤪 

GTKY: Do you have a favorite/famous recipe/go-to meal? 

I usually get asked to bring slaw anytime we have fish or a bbq, everyone swears I make it “better” buts it’s just cabbage, mayo, s&p, and a dash of sugar. I also get asked to bring ravioli’s to church often, which is also super easy! But it’s nice knowing people think I can cook lol. 

My husbands favorite is a cinnamon roll cake I make- which I will take credit for that one. It’s pretty darn good 🤪

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow morning, i’m having my 3hr glucose test.

How are you feeling?: tired & in pain, sciatic nerve pain has slowed me down quite a bit.

Rants/Raves: rants - i HATE doing the 3hr test, it’s not even too bad i just hate how long it takes. i prefer going by myself cause i feel bad waking up my husband & the kids to come with, but my husband knows i sometimes feel sick from the juice so he doesn’t want me going alone. so we’re all going.

raves - we had my brother in law’s family staying with us for a month, we were helping them out since they were in between places & they just moved out. as soon as they left i went into full nesting mode & i’ve been loving it! i washed all of baby girl’s clothes today.

@sph97 me! i went into spontaneous early labor with my 1st at 31w & my second was born at exactly 37w. my dr said he won’t let me go past 37w this time as well, thats if she doesn’t decide to come sooner. if she’s born at 37w that’ll be around july 15-21 .. that seems like right around the corner 😨

GTKY: Do you have a favorite/famous recipe/go-to meal? my cakes! i’m the baker in the family & i always make my husband’s and kids birthday cakes. my sisters also reach out to me for birthday cakes frequently. my top 3 requested cakes are my triple chocolate cakes, 3 leches cakes, and lemon raspberry cakes. i almost made some cinnamon rolls today but remembered i had my 3hr test tomorrow & got discouraged 😂

@littlebabybuster I’ll be induced if baby isn’t here by the week of July 13th! It feels so soon, but yet so far 😅
I’m no pro but during Covid I practiced my hand at decorating sheet cakes and make cakes/cupcakes for family and friends! They mostly ask because of the homemade buttercream icing lol. My “secret” is a tad of almond extract. Soooo good! I can’t wait until this baby is here and I can enjoy it myself. I have to make 2 cakes this week and can’t eat a bit of the icing 🙈

How are you feeling?: blah. Such bad insomnia lately. Bad mood.  

Rants/Raves: Rant: I feel like the past 9 months have been hard. My mom recovered from breast cancer and she just told me that she got a pre-cancerous diagnoses for something else. Just a lot of family stuff too.  This pregnancy has been tougher than I ever thought.  Rave: We've come up with two names we like,  just have to meet her to choose!

Questions: Does anyone burp like crazy?? I'm thinking I need to add pre/probiotic to my diet because I burp alllll the time!

GTKY: Do you have a favorite/famous recipe/go-to meal? When going to parties, people call me the dip queen. Some favorites: green onion cheddar dip, buffalo chicken,  and an orange cream that is great with fruit. I love eating so I cook a lot.  I have full cookbooks completed with my ratings and notes.

@sph97 I'm sorry about the blood sugar.  That would be super frustrating. July does seem so soon!! We'll have to start the process of switching to Facebook before your little one comes!

Side note,  I think we need start a recipe thread now because I would really love that cinnamon roll cake recipe!

@littlebabybuster good luck on your test! That drink does make you feel icky,  eesh!

Rants/Raves: my husband just got a new griddle/blackstone type thing which is great because he’s pretty much taken over the cooking

GTKY: Do you have a favorite/famous recipe/go-to meal? Barbecue chicken and baked beans are the things I’m most often asked to bring to parties. I’m not much of a baker but lately have been getting into breads, bagels and homemade rolls which are so good and so much healthier than stuff from the store

@lexilougolden prayers for your mom and family. I know that has to be so hard! 

We definitely need to transition to fbook! Anyone want to volunteer as admins? I don’t mind helping!

my cinnamon roll cake is one sheet cake (I’ve used vanilla, French vanilla, and yellow- all turn out yum!) baked. While still HOT poke holes in it and pour in a sweetened condensed milk mixture (1 can of Swt Con milk mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon. I’m sorry I just eyeball this, but it’s a good bit!) after you dump your mixture and the cake is still hot, ice it!

icing- 2 sticks of soft unsalted butter, 1 block of cream cheese, 1 bag of powder sugar and splash of vanilla. Mix until smooth, adding in powder sugar 1c at a time.

the trick is you have to ice it while it’s hot so it gets all soaked into the cake. My husband requests this every year for his Bday!

How are you feeling?: Very fatigued and large

Rants/Raves: Rave- We just finished our last little trip before baby comes and it went well. Our 19mo traveled well and we had a great time with our cousins on the beach. Rant- I just found out my wife's cousin lost her baby at 25 weeks due to premature rupture of the membranes. It's keeping me up at night and every vaginal discharge or cramp is making me worried and sad for her.

GTKY: Do you have a favorite/famous recipe/go-to meal? I love to cook and DW jokes that I never make the same meal twice. I make a chocolate caramel brownie that goes over well at parties.
