22 weeks and need some advice.

This is my first and one of the things I have always been anxious about is the physical act of giving birth. I've accepted that contractions HURT, but the idea of pushing a large object out of my vagina is intimidating to say the least. 
Even before I was pregnant it was something that kinda scared me. I'm not having anxiety attacks or anything, but I do plan to talk about this more with my OB.

Could anyone share some birth stories to give me an idea of what to expect? I know everyone is different, but I want all the stories I can try to mentally prepare as much as possible.
