Must be nice to have confidence that this is it! I’m also brewing baby #4 but possibly still open to a 5th. 

If you don’t mind sharing: how are you ensuring no kiddos after this one? Vasectomies seems to be growing in popularity over
tubal ligations in my friend group.

Also, what factors are going into your decision? Difficult pregnancies or deliveries? Money/life circumstance? Age?

I’m ftm (36) at 14w with twins. (Boy and girl) if genetic testing done correctly… I’ll hope two healthy babies and we will be done.  Factors: our ages

This is definitely our last. I don't want to do pregnancy and post partum recovery for a 4th time and childcare is just expensive.

I have 3 friends who swore they were done, then 7-10 years later “oops!”

For anyone actually done, for real, 100% done: Definitely take permanent measures immediately. My second baby was my last one. Then my husband kept putting off his vasectomy and now I'm here. Lol. 

Done FOR REAL after this one. I might ask for a tubal after I give birth.

That would be great to know, considering you have 2 sons already plus this one. I guess it is part of your responsible parenting. I only have one 4-year-old son through IVF. Though we're planning to have another one, still, there are factors that need consideration.

@MrsCaliRN My husband is going to get a vasectomy we agreed it's only fair after my body has done so much to bring our children into the world and a tubal is a much bigger operation. 

I don't really want to go back on hormonal birth control and I had the copper IUD for 5 years and had horrendous periods the whole time. Before I was pregnant my cycle was very regular despite my PCOS and heavy but short and pretty painless periods, which on the whole was pretty good so I don't want to mess that up.

@cornichonmam just make sure he actually gets the vasectomy and doesn’t put it off month after month. That’s why I’m doing tubal, if he can’t follow through I’m just going to take matters into my own hands (as always. Bitter? Yeah a little). He’s still going to get the vasectomy though. Allegedly.

My husband is getting a vasectomy after this one is born. We just want to make sure he or she makes it here healthy.

Same @beckah1997 .  The fella already asked how long he should wait post babies to get snipped… @MrsCaliRN we will go back to condoms to (fingers crossed) make sure no Irish twins.

I completely agree on your rationale for the vasectomy @cornichonmam but it never surprises me how many guys put off getting the snip because they’re legit scared. I know I shouldn’t roll my eyes at that but…🙄

Smart choice @beckah1997 though I wonder if he could get something scheduled and go through the consult, but cancel if you change your mind before the procedure. Could also learn more about healing time; probably not a good idea for you BOTH to be icing your nether regions at the same time!

My husband refuses vasectomy. I’ve tried ALL the view points… so, even though I bore him 10 children all vaginal, I now get to get cut open to get my tubes removed after this 11th one.
Hopefully, I won’t be bitter about it once it’s done. Just an honest vent to complete strangers, no need to worry. 🙈

@etnyah Yes I'll get on his case. A friend of his had one recently so I think that will help too. I'm not dead against getting another marina coil but I'd definitely prefer him to go through the pain. 😅

I'm on number 3, I am so done and gonna have my tubes tied... the first two were preemies, depression was horrible afterwards (still dealing with it and working with Dr to get that straight) I'll be 36 so my age is somewhat part of it, also the fact that my DH also has 2 from a previous relationship that we have full custody of... so a total of 5 kids... I'm done! My sanity is worth it and I refuse to let someone convince me other wise.
