Babies: 3 - 6 Months

5 Month old Sleep

I NEED HELP!! I am losing so much sleep. My 5 month old (almost 6) has been fighting her sleep so bad at night. She used to sleep 12 hours a night and now she’s waking up every hour or so. I don’t know what to do. She will fall back asleep when I have her on me. But when she’s back in her crib she’s awake within the next hour or so.. maybe sleep regression? She’s on solids.. 4oz (3 times a day). So it’s not hunger.. she seems to be teething some..  please HELP.. she will not self soothe and will scream until I pick her up.

I wanted to let you know I'm going through the exact same thing. (I attached what last night looked for us. ) I think it's a mix of everything: learning/growing, teething, and over all curious about the world. I reduces to sleep train and tell myself, "your not having a hard time, she is having a hard time. I will miss this some day"

    Just know your not alone!!

  • She's only eating about 12oz a day? She could be hungry. My baby eats 6oz about 4-5 times a day but he is also going through some trouble sleeping at night.

Honestly, if your baby calms down with lullabies, a smart baby monitor that plays music and alerts you when they cry can really save your sanity. Just gotta help them ease into sleeping on their own bit by bit.
  • I'm so sorry to hear. My baby too had those a few nights ago. He will usually sleep after bath and feeding but the evening were now different, he was wide awake, crying with Daddy but stops with me and smiles but he was having trouble sleeping. You put him down and he will start screaming. His teeth are coming through and we think it might be teething pain, the first night we gave 25 ml  Tylenol and he slept while breastfeeding. He was good after I laid him down

But it repeated a few nights after that. Take heart and be there for your baby. This too shall pass, I think they crave some extra comfort

He takes 5oz 4-5times and sometimes breastfeeding instead of bottle
