Large blood clot in second trimester

I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar and went on to have a successful pregnancy. I went to the ER on Sunday at 17w5d due to heavy bleeding. After getting admitted and staying in for observation for 2 days , it was found that I have a large blood clot right by my cervix which is why the bleeding was so heavy. They did US on baby all 3 days and it was found that he had a strong heartbeat and seemed at that time unaffected by everything since thankfully the clot is not inside the sack. It seems to not be a SCH, not affecting the placenta, but the doctors seemed quite pessimistic due to the size of the clot. For now, all I’ve been offered is to stay home at bed-rest with no lifting and weekly US to hopefully make sure everything progresses well. I am just looking for some reassurance, if anyone’s been though something similar with a positive outcome, since right now I’m pretty negative and don’t know what to expect anymore. The bleeding seems to be subsiding, but I don’t know much about anything anymore.
