Names?

Any thoughts on favorite names, names that go well together, and any other issues around naming are welcome here.

Re: Names?

  • I’ll start. My husband only likes 1 girl name and I don’t like it…every time I read off girl name options he doesn’t like any of them…any suggestions?

We have one for a girl and one for a boy picked, but we have a few on the list that we spent YEARS of negotiations on.

There's always a chance that the names we have chosen just doesn't 'fit' when we actually meet baby.

tbh I don't know if hubby is totally in love with the girl name we have but I love it so much that he just let it go.

We have a boy name but we’re struggling with a girl name. We have some pretty strict requirements: it has to work in both Norwegian and English, not start with the same letter at the siblings (I and S), not be too similar to their names in general. The boy name we have is perfect and I have a huge list of girl names, but not one of them really stands out and I don’t think my husband likes any of them. So obviously we’re going to have a girl lol.

  • Why are girl names so hard? We are also 100% settled on our boy name. We don’t find out gender for another 6 weeks or so. We will be happy with either, but I’m hoping for a boy just so we don’t have to pick a girl name.
  • Haha! I'm hoping for a girl, because I just can't think of any boy names at all. They all sound absurd to me.
Except when I was trying desperately to fall asleep and then came up with the "absolute best" boy name ever, that I had forgotten by the next day. Only to realize days later it was Jack Elder, and definitely not the best boy name ever.....
