Pumping - 6 weeks PP

Hey y’all, I wanted to know what everyone’s output for pumping is. I’m 6 weeks pp and vary from 1-3 oz per session. Any advice on eating habits to help increase? I can’t pump more since I’m the only one really w the baby so it’ll be hard to add more pumping sessions.

Re: Pumping - 6 weeks PP

  • Maybe try eating oatmeal and drinking a ton of water daily. I drink about 16-20 cups a day. Also power pumping. Pump for 20 min, then rest 10 min, pump for 10 min, rest for 10 min, pump for 10 min. Doing these things has helped my milk supply.

Also - about how much are you hoping for/do you need to pump?

  • My suggestion would be to keep hydrated. Hydration means nutrients not just water. Coconut water can help keep you hydrated more. You can also look for foods that will help you too. I usually keep granola handy since it’s the oats that do the trick.

I don’t know if you are an exclusive pumper but if you’re not your variation may be based on how much baby is feeding off you. The suggested wait time is 10 mins after baby is done feeding to pump.

I’m an exclusive pumper and the only one with baby during the day so I have wearables and it helps a lot to get those sessions in. I have a lansinoh wearable.

Keep yourself hydrated at all times. Fruit juices would also help a lot.
